UPDATED: JAN 25, 2018 Bottle from Alko, Helsinki. Pours black with a medium-sized white head. The aroma displays dark, slightly roasty maltiness with dark plummy fruitiness and a touch of licorice. Taste is medium sweet, fruity and malty. Flavours are not very typical for a porter: rather than dry and roasty, this is plummy and caramelly, sweet for a porter. Hint of bitterness in the finish. The palate is medium-bodied and smooth, low in carbonation. Decent Kavu (5638) - Helsinki, FINLAND - DEC 31, 2017

sopp. Black. Dark, slight sweet licoricy nose. Malty. Med bodied, quite easy, kinda clean too. Bit short finishing, but nice clean drinkable. Feels a bit simple, but hasnt anything offputting either.

Tap at SOPP Hki 2017. Smell of roasted malt and some banana. Very dark brown colour, mid-brown head. Aroma of tar, roasted malt, some mead and syrupy notes. Very sweet. Soft but plentiful carbon. Somewhat dry finish. Toomio (620) - Joensuu, FINLAND - MAY 22, 2017
Aavistuksen sellainen honkavuorimainen laimeus. Maut kohdillaan, mutta ei vaan ihan odotukset täyty. Metso on kyllä kiva eläin. Ukkometso nimittäin etiketissä. oh6gdx (26486) - Vasa, FINLAND - APR 29, 2017

Tap (Villi Waino, Helsinki)
Nice roasty aroma, chocolate cake, but some pleasant fruity esters too. Thinnish palate, mostly as the carbonation’s a bit too high. That does reinforce the deceit that it’s not strong. Nice roasty taste, some fruity esters again. Not proclaiming its strength from the rooftops, which I appreciate. A few swirls, and the palate is fixed. Nice rich baltic porter, thumbs up from here.
