UPDATED: MAR 7, 2020 On tap at The Livery, pours a deep dark mahogany with a tiny beige head. Aroma is unsurprisingly intense, with heaps of bourbon barrel character dominating, with some underlying toffee and dark fruits that are mostly covered by the bourbon. Flavour is an intense bourbon bomb, showcasing those beautiful bourbon barrels, with plenty of vanilla, followed by dark fruits, molasses, and treacle. Very sweet, but the booze prevents it from becoming cloying. Over-the-top but a pleasure to drink. Lovely. blipp (12136) - La Mesa, California, USA - NOV 23, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 23, 2019 Draft at the brewery. Very cool to finally be able to try this... this was in the top 50 when I first joined Ratebeer way back in 2007. Pours murky brown with a thin head. Very boozy and sweet, with banana bread, rich caramel sweetness, some toast, toffee, and a rich and sweet finish. Maintains some level of drinkability, but really this is meant to be a big and rich dessert beer. Good stuff, happy to finally be able to try it. shrubber85 (13007) - Greenville, Indiana, USA - JUN 16, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 16, 2019 Prune, cherry, banana, clove, caramel malt, bourbon, and hay aroma. Cloudy brown with minimal head. Very sweet raisin, banana, cherry, toffee malt, bourbon, and mildly bitter hay flavor. Excellent body and balance - bourbon gets stronger as it warms. Worth the wait. UPDATED: JAN 26, 2019 This is arguably in the top 5 beers I've ever had. The flavors are so insane and the texture of this beer is velvety. I adore it. martjoobolut (9513) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - OCT 19, 2018
Bottle, vintage 2017 (thanks Brandon!). Pours dark brown-black with beige brownish head. Aroma is very sweet, papery, wheat, vanilla. Flavor is sweet and bitter, bourbon, roast, wheat, booze, banana, vanilla, booze, and booze. Finish is sweet banana and massive booze. Overall: not a bad beverage, but way too boozy. I have tried 40+% ABV beverages that are less boozie than this... Also im not convinced that the base bock is really good to begin with.

Black with a very small tan ring. Aroma is intense with sweet malty notes, bourbon and dried fruits, toffee, caramel, figs, prunes, raisins, toasted coconut, oak, notes of ripe banana. Taste is sweet and malty with a light bitterness, light acidity. Finish is sweet caramel, molasses, dark bread, banana, figs, prunes, warming bourbon and slightly dry and astringent tannic note. Medium to full bodied, oily and creamy texture, almost flat.
Growler provided by BVery - thanks! Deep amber pour with a small head. Nose suggests an infection. Farty yeast. Apple sauce, rotting orchard fruits. Trail mix. Flavor is quite acidic and tart. Rotting raspberry. Some cocoa and caramelized grain. Full body, strong carb. Unfortunate - would love to try this in good condition. The_Osprey (10559) - WALES - JUL 16, 2016
June 2016 - Growler with thanks to LKS at Canary Wharf. Thanks bro! As ’The Livery Bourbon Barrel Aged Wheat Trippelbock’. Very dark brown with no head, quite still. Aroma is meaty bourbon, chocolate syrup, vanilla, plain chocolate. Smells nice. Body is smooth and oily, low carbonation. Taste is spicy, trinitario chocolate, dark breads, a little alcoholic, rye bread, vanilla, bourbon. Tasty stuff. I can see why this gets such a high rating. Though there is a question over how much of this I could drink. madmitch76 (32893) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JUN 21, 2016

Level 42 Bottleshare. Thanks to Leighton. Almost clear brown beer, no head. Smooth palate, modest carbonation. Smooth malts. Plenty of bourbon. Bourbon spice, bourbon soaked fruits. Light finish with some warming alcohol. Bourbon linger. Yep - pretty bourbon!
