33 cl bottle @ Konttori BBE 01.04.2022.
Pours her black color with a large beige head. Bourbon and vanilla strong on the aroma, mild caramel and toffee, subtle coffee and toasted malts, faint hops too. Sweet vanilla flavor, chocolate and bourbon, toasted dark malts, some coffee bitterness. Creamy palate, full-bodied and slightly warming with alcohol. Tasty and fairly balanced big beer.

Bottled. 33cl sample. The aroma has strong vanilla/bourbon, chocolate, some roast, hint of licorice. Black coloured beer with a thin, beige/brown head. The taste is light-moderate bitter with sweetish vanilla tones, roast, chocolate. Barrel aging is close to over the top. Enjoyable beer.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 01.04.22 at J.R.Schrammi Keller, 20170731) The beer poured black. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had vanilla, whisky and burnt malts. Palate was full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, vanilla, whisky, sweetness, ash and bitterness. Aftertaste was woody, burnt and bitter. A brew that didn’t improve in barrels. Not a bad one though.

Bottle. Pours black with beige head. Bourbon barrel, vanilla in aroma. Taste is roasty, sweet, chocolate, raisins, coffee and bourbon again. Full body, smooth and a bit oily mouthfeel, low carbonation. Pretty good.

330ml bottle. Pours black colour. Medium beige head. Vanilla, notes of bourbon, oak, toffee, nutty notes, hints of bitter chocolate in the aroma. Vanilla, notes of bourbon, cocoa, toffee, oak in the taste. Sour bread, chocolate, cocoa in the aftertaste. Full body, silky, bit oily palte. Alcochol well covered. Really well balanced, classical imperial stout with slight twist of bourbon. Nice.

Bottle from Järve Roosa (€ 7). BB 01.04.2022. Dark brown with well-retaining beige head, some lace. Lovely aroma and flavour, delicate vanilla and oak from the BB, chocolaty sweet malts, some mild lingering booze. Easy-drinking, light, only moderately sticky, soft mouthfeel, velvety smooth texture, almost no carbonation. The booze becomes a bit harsh in the end but all in all it’s all rather well integrated.

330ml bottle, thanks Tanno. Pours black, thick beige head stays excellently, leaves lacing. Bourbon, wood, liquorice, vanilla, dark chocolate, roast in aroma. Dark chocolate, cocoa, wood, vanilla in taste. Bourbon and saltyness in aftertaste. Kinda creamy texture, full body, average carbo. Well hidden alco. Complex brew, easily drinkable and very enjoyable. Btw, I really like label design.

Sweet and toasty aroma, plenty of vanilla and bourbon barrel too. Black, small tight tan head. Tasty malty taste, again, the barrel and its vanilla is clear. Full body, moderate carbonation stops it from being heavy. Finish just fades out the taste, leaving you with the bourbon. Clearly a big beer, but actual alcohol is surprisingly well concealed.

Marduk (8061) - Reval, ESTONIA - MAY 18, 2017
Tap @TCBW 2017. Pitch black color. Medium size, tan head, stays. Looks nice. Dark chocolate, licorice, roast, sweet, vanilla, woody in aroma. Dark chocolate, licorice, roast, some coffee, sweet, woody and some spicy hops in taste. Woody, dark chocolate and roast in aftertaste. Mellow mouthfeel. Alcohol is well covered. Heavy body. Could use some ageing. At the moment I prefer original version.
