7/26/2018 (2005 vintage, 22 fl oz bottle): Aroma of caramel malt, earthy and herbal hops; dull, cloudy bronze color with a thin, off-white crown; flavor is fruity, caramel, and toffee malts, lots of aged hops (floral, earthy, herbal, ), bittersweet with a moderate bitterness overall, some oxidation but seems to have aged mostly well; medium to medium-full body, slick mouthfeel, sometimes soapy; still pretty solid 13 years later...

From Nov 2005 Pours a nice orange-gold that is semi-clear and produces a good sized head that fades fairly rapidly leaving lacing around the edge and in the center. The smell is very fruity(grapefruit) mixed with a strong hop aroma. The taste is more of the grapefruit with some malt tones but this brew has a decidedly bitter flavour that I don't find all that attractive. I'm a fan of many of Stone's offerings and I'm glad I tried this one but once is enough, thank you.

From notes. Epic Stone catalogue tasting at Upson's house on November 19, 2016. This beer is 11 years old. POURS a toffee brown color (almost orange) and very cloudy. AROMA is quite oxidized with butterscotch being the most notable element. FLAVOR reflects less oxidation but still with notes of toffee and butterscotch and amazingly still has some hop presence and wheat notes. It's obviously showing the 11 years on it, but still tasty. 22 oz bottle shared for Allagash’s Drink It Now Day. Thanks radagast83! Golden orange with off-white head. Aromas of malt, citrus, stone fruit. Tastes of malt, citrus, caramel, toffee, aged wheat. Medium body with a dry finish.

22oz bottle 1/12/16 (Old Notes)-Pours a orangish yellow with a small head. Aroma of citrus, malt, and wheat. Taste of the same with some hops. This lighter bodied brew is well balanced and quite tasty.

22oz bottle courtesy of a splendid trade with FlacoAlto. It pours with a murky copper colored body that supports a thin near white head. The aroma offers up plums, apples, sugary malts, earthy green apple and funky earthy yeastiness. The taste quickly gets into honey and malt sweetened apple and plum notes. To midway it picks up brown sugar and an earthy funky yeast sensation. Above all of the sweetness hovers a modest tartness that seems almost tannin like or something. Interesting brew that I am glad to finally try after mistakenly missing it on far too many occasions.

"the age has definitely mellowed out the hops. makes me wonder what it tasted like 3 years ago... in 2009 the hops are almost non-existent, but what’s left is a maltier sweeter taste, a unique brew...still quite good."

Bottle from Aces and Ales. Pours a cloudy yellow gold with no head. The aroma is wood and faint citrus. Similar flavor with sweet finish. Held up ok.

Cellared and enjoyed November 2013: I think I saved this one a little too long. Color was orangey yellow with a mild white head. The citrusy wheat flavor is present but the carbonation was light. Good beer overall. Enjoyed one a few years ago and that one was better. May have just kept too long. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Hazy orange from the tap. Caramel and citrus bouquet tops the light grainy mouthfeel. Does not taste like wheat malt. Finish is thick and sweet.
