COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned - 75 cl, and 33 cl bottles.
Ingredients: Pilsner malt (French barley from Champagne); wheat starch or flour (10% - 15%); dextrose (5%); malt extract (0.1%); hop extract from German Hallertaur (aroma) & American Galena (bittering) hops. Yeast & liquid invert sugar added to the bottled beer.
Chimay Red is noted for its coppery colour which makes it particularly attractive. Topped with a creamy head, it gives off a light, fruity apricot aroma produced by the fermentation. The taste perceived in the mouth is a balance confirming the fruity nuances noticed in the fragrance. Its taste, which imparts a silky sensation to the tongue, is made refreshing by a light touch of bitterness. To the palate, the taster perceives a pleasant astringency which complements the flavour qualities of this beer very harmoniously. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised.

A bohužel. Stále véééééélká kvalita. Jako za čtyři, ale furt TOP10 jak nic...

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2018 Nice beer, not the best belgian around. Not the best example of the style, missing some key bubblegum notes i like.

33 cl bought from supermarket. Pours hazy dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dried plums, brown sugar, brown bread, some caramel. Taste is sweet, malty, caramel, belgian yeast, fried fruits. Light to medium body, medium carbonation, nice light bitter finish. Overall a very good Belgian beer.

Robe brun clair, presque ambrée, trouble, mat.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2018 Bottle at home. Pours slightly hazy mahagony with big beige head. Aroma of plums, dark dried fruit, brown sugar, fruit chewing gum, ethanol. Taste very sweet, with a lot of fruit esters. Bitter and slightly astringent finish. Medium bodied, warm mouth feel, high carbonation.
