Cask at Gloucester Beer Festival. Dark ruby brown, no head. Malty aroma, dried fruits. Taste is sweet, dried fruits, caramel, toffee, light roast, gentle bitterness. Light-medium body, very low carbonation.

On cask at The Wellington in Birmingham. Pours dark ruby brown with a lasting beige head. Aroma: sweet malts, dark fruits, dried fruits. Taste: moderate sweet, light bitter, with dark fruits, prunes, figs, caramel, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sweetish nutty finish. UPDATED: OCT 12, 2017 Cask at the Robin Hood Beer Festival 2017. Dark brown with reddish tint. Mildly sweet aroma of dark preserved fruit and sweet malts. Not too watery. Initial taste is sweetish, of red berries, mostly cherry, and dark chocolate. Bitter chocolate in the middle, leading to an even ,ore bitter finish. Aftertaste is fruity again, again mostly cherries.
