Taste: moderate sweet, light bitter, with dark fruits, prunes, figs, caramel, toffee. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sweetish nutty finish. Good stuff, it's seen as a classic for a reason

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2017 Cask at the Robin Hood Beer Festival 2017. Dark brown with reddish tint. Mildly sweet aroma of dark preserved fruit and sweet malts. Not too watery. Initial taste is sweetish, of red berries, mostly cherry, and dark chocolate. Bitter chocolate in the middle, leading to an even ,ore bitter finish. Aftertaste is fruity again, again mostly cherries. Not bad.
