Sample at Bob's Bar. Brown-black pour with a medium thick tan head that diminishes gradually to a film. Patchy lacing. Aroma of chocolate, coffee, roast malt and tea. Full-bodied with flavors of charred malt, coffee, chocolate and a bit of spiced fruit. The finish is roasty with a coffee and malt aftertaste. Good beer overall. mike_77 (7417) - Breda, NETHERLANDS - MAR 10, 2018
UPDATED: MAR 11, 2018 Black with quick fading head. Aroma is a bit soapy with all the lemongrass, ginger and lime. Flavour is similar but there's an interesting but ultimately pointless fight going on when the thick , oily richness and dark bitter coffee-like malts kick in. sonnycheeba (6751) - Federal Hill, Baltimore, Maryland, USA - MAR 7, 2018
Tap at brewery. Aroma and flavor are milk chocolate, booze, that spices, roasty bitterness, and some residual sweetness. Full body. tmoreau (4904) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAR 6, 2018
On tap at Lunar Brewing Co. dispensed to a snifter displaying a black/brown hue, with a finger's width of brownish tan froth, and web-like lacing. The nose was strongly roasted, cocoa, spices as cinnamon & ginger, slightly herbal, with a touch of tropical, zestiness, & Thai vibe, but also a hint of fels naptha-like soapiness. Full bodied, with low carbonation, the taste was somewhat similar notes as the aroma, syrupy, with roasted & earthy bitterness, and noticeable booze. SimunDam (3) - - MAR 6, 2018 does not count

On tap at Farmhouse Tap and Grill in Burlington, Vermont. Pours opaque dark brown, no head, small amount of tan head lacing. Aroma: spices (hard to pinpoint), molasses. Flavor: molasses, ginger, chili peppers, black peppers, lemongrass. Mouthfeel: full-bodied, slick. While it's good for the flavored style, the flavor profile is all over the place, leaving me scratching my head and wondering, why? douglas88 (9895) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 24, 2018
On tap at Dark Arts. What a change this one. Pours a pitch black hue with a medium light brown head. A big bursting nose of spicy and roasted notes. Huge dark roasted base, chocolate, ginger, clear lemongrass, comes in very authentic to what it is. And it works well. Not sure I'd want a 750 of this, but it is great. klm1 (2113) - Bled/SF, - FEB 24, 2018

; black opaque, with tiny light brown head. Thai tea, lemongrass, ginger, coffee, toffee, chocolate...smooth texture, full body, moderate carbonation.
@ The brewpub in San Diego 18-2-19: Mycket trevlig och mjuk med stor ton av choklad samt kryddor och lite söt kokos. gyllenbock (10355) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - FEB 20, 2018
On tap at the brewery. A bit hazy black with a small tan head. Aroma of fairly mild spices like lemongrass, ginger and lime. Also dark chocolate and some coffee. The same in the taste. A nice one.
