COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the brewer: “We start out by brewing a pretty simple pale beer. We then ferment and age it in barrels with various bug for about a year ad then we add the feijoas. The fejioas are simply cut in half (cutting 800 kg of fruit is a great team building experience!), then pushed through the bunghole of the barrel, skin and all. Depending on how the ferment goes, we plan on leaving the fruit in the barrel for about a year, then we draw the beer of the fruit, blend the barrels and bottle it. The beer is unfiltered and bottle conditioned so some sediment will remain.

Samtzu (2110) - Palmerston North, NEW ZEALAND - FEB 6, 2024
UPDATED: FEB 6, 2024 500ml bottle. Pours a light gold with tinge of green and soft white head. Huge nose bursting with citrus, fuck, tartness, and the distinct feijoa. Light to medium body with mild carbonation. Frontal assault of feijoa with medium acidity and tartness. Light mouth puckering and dryness from the zest. More balanced than precious versions.
Earlier Rating: 3/10/2018 Total Score: 4.4
Tap pour. Pours a gold/yellow/orange with very quickly dissappearing head. Huge citrus nose full of the Feijoa. Medium body with a strong sour forward which develops into sweetness. Reminds me if the old sour candy's but in delicious beer form! An excellent annual release.

jjsint (7717) - Leicester, Leicestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2023
UPDATED: MAY 7, 2023 500ml bottle as part of a delivery from the New Zealand Bert Collective and drunk at home. Light to mid-golden and hazy with a small foamy white head. Lots, and I mean lots of sediment. Aroma of gooseberry, loquat, lemon juice, candy sugar. Sour taste with juicy sourness lying beneath, leading to a relatively short finish. More lightly sugared gooseberry in the aftertaste. Full body, medium to heavy carbonation. Incredible.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2021 I Draught /I No head to speak of; hazy pineapplejuice coloured beer. Sour, old cloth, soap, dry spices - some form of oxydation. Dry, mild acids, lactic. Fruity esters but none really imposing. Wild yeasts, and then especially floor mop Brett dominating the flavourprofile. Light body, low carbonation. Too wild yeast oriented, and not very uplifting.
