Apparence : Dorée, pas tout à fait limpide, beau col blanc aéré ayant une bonne rétention et laissant une belle dentelle.
Nez : Orange, touche herbacée, léger malt pâle.
Goût : Amertume prononcée, très herbacée, un peu résineuse et épicée, orange, malt mielleux davantage en arrière-plan.
Sensation : Longue durée de l’amertume assez prononcée et franche, effervescence moyenne à élevée, corps mince.
Bref : Je suis porte-en-faux par rapport à cette bière; je ne suis pas convaincu. Une amertume rappelant l’intensité d’une IPA, l’orange et autres fruits rappelant l’IPA, des notes herbacées tirant sur la résine d’une IPA et un malt qui ne parait pas développer les notes céréalières craquantes des meilleurs exemples. Le tout se rééquilibre dans mon cerveau une fois après avoir recherché sur les deux houblons utilisés. Pas mauvaise, mais pas ce que je recherche dans une Pilsner.

This stunning Pilsener shares suave cereals and herbal noble hoppiness in a most elegant mouthfeel and balance.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A healthy head of foam stands atop the translucent deep golden.
-All flavors are perfectly developed.
-This is as good as some actual Czech Svetlys.
-Malts also share bready undertones.
-The spicy hop bitterness is delicious.
-Drinkability is through the roof!

Bottle.

Pours a very clear golden with a small white head that leaves some pretty good lacing. Nose is of slight honeyed malt and peppery hops. Taste is nicely bitter and nicely crisp. Hoppy/fruity flavors and a lingering bitter finish. Body is medium, carbonation moderate. Oily. A mighty fine pils again by Ras L’Bock! Here’s hoping it becomes a yearly tradition!

Bouteille 500ml. Couleur dorée translucide, mousse blanche. Arôme de levure, malt, houblon herbacé, floral, fleur d’oranger? Goût de levure, malt, houblon herbacé, bonne amertume plutôt longue, fruité. Carbonatation moyenne-élevée, corps moyen.

Bottle (500 ml) at home, split 2-ways. Clear bright golden with a large white head, moderate retention, leaving little lacing. Aroma is of herbal hops, crackery cereals, moderate fruity (strawberries, melon, grapefruit) hops and bread just out of the oven. Taste is just sweet enough with crackery cereals, herbal driven profile with light fruitiness (including fun light strawberries notes), mineral notes and light bitterness. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Crisp and clean. Herbal finish. This is as good if not better than last year version (Sainte-Bénite de Barabas) with a lovely herbal profile combined to crackery cereals and a touch of much welcome fruitiness. Heavily drinkable and quenching while not being light and certainely not bland either. Very well done!
