Here you have what could be the first malt liquor worthy of a glass. Typically a slighted style, we thought we would class it up with a stay in the wood and a healthy dose of dry-hopping. A huge hit of corn gives this one a smooth sweetness while its time spent aging in bourbon barrels will give you reason to share. Be warned: this one’s a pry-off, not a twist-off.

Malz, Holzfass, dunkle Trauben, Barleywine. Hinten holzig, Whisky. Sehr wärmend. Grandioser Absacker. Danach ins Bett.

UPDATED: APR 14, 2018 On tap @ Holy Craft. Fantastic sticky nose. The beer starts sticky intense. Lots of depth from grain and smooth sweetness. The alcohol isn’t there, round and rich with an intense deep grainy maltiness. Fantastic!

Pours with an okay white head. Color is copper, almost clear. Looks quite nice. Rich aroma has malt, chocolate, marsipan, vanilla, cherry, bourbon (it's clearly bourbon) barrel, some alcohol, some licorice and salt licorice. Smooth, thick palate that's very nicely balanced. Just a slight, slight emptiness in the body, otherwise nice. Taste starts smoothly and evolves to the tastes. Malt, egg nog, spring water, boiled egg, red berry (mainly strawberry) jam, hops with some bitterness in body, very slight burnt taste. Quite complex beer that brings some novel sensations. I've not tasted boiled egg,red berry jam or egg nog in a beer before. Good beer as well, quite rich (so means small portions), but offers a good amount of depth/complexity, while being enjoyable at the same time.

Dark bronze, clear white foam, that dosnt last. Alcohol, caramel and raisins in the aroma. Sweet, toffee, with strong alcohol bourbon in the aftertaste

Pours amber with a fading head. Nose shows heavy vanilla and coconut bourbon notes, sooft woody oak, caramel, booze and spicy hops. Intensely sweet flavours of caramel, toffee, coconut, bourbon, heavy booze, and a reasonable bitterness with a bit of an abrasive quality.

355 ml bottle from Bumble Inn,Peterborough,bb 26/06/2018. Burnt orange, minimally hazy, streams of bubbles, white head. I can't demand more. Nose - honey, vanilla, wood, biscuits, sweet, boozy and heavy. Very bourbony nose after warming up. Taste - sweet, malty, alcoholic, warms the stomach. Oily and leaves astringent feel in the mouth. Yeah, this style truly belongs in a paper bag.

12 fl.oz bottle. A clear golden beer with a huge most good lasting off-white head. Aroma of intense sweet strong malt, vanillla and wood. Taste of heavy sweet vanilla and strong malt, wood, honey, wax, boozy. Not bad! Good Malt Liquor!

Where and how: bottle 12 oz @ home aged 1 year
Aroma plenty of barrel feel, vanilla, alcohol and well paired malt choice. Perhaps a bit heavy on barrel. More subtle approach would be preferred. 7.5/10
Appearance : 3/5
Top: creamy, off white top, well coating glass walls.
Base: clear with true to style likka amber gold.
Palate : full bodied, low carbonation, full walls, mid finish.
Taste: barrel feel less intrusive than aromas. Vanilla notes with malty bottom. Rough at edges but did not sell soul out.

UPDATED: MAR 12, 2018 Stupid beer really, totally ridiculous. But also very cool. Hint of golden on this otherwise lager looking brew. Sweet woody aroma, even a hint of smoky choc. Boozy, semi chocolate, sweet malt taste. Really strange. And very boozy. Interesting beer that is pretty unique.

Like an illicit Moonshine beer this golden amber furily acidic beveridge alcool bomb says 'Let's get shitfaced!' To the world. Have to admit to giving Founders some credit for making the effort but it still belongs in a brown paper bag.
