Bouteille. [notes 2005]

Pale golden pour with a crap load if floaters. soapy, Apple aroma with boozy yeast. Thin mouth feel, and a very over active carb. The finish is sweet with big notes of Apple and cheap grains.

Bottle 500ml. Pours golden with low white head. Minimal lacing. Kinda low bottle fill imo. Aroma is of fruits, spices, sugar. Taste is of lots of sugar, spices, fruits, slight nuts, faint acidity. Palate: Full bodied. Sticky, thick texture. Medium-heavy carbonation. Overall: Absolutely no drinkability. I’m almost gagging here. Straight-up cloying. Laughable balance. A no brainer drain pour. Pathetic brew.

500 ml bottle(2014 young batch). nice fruity/spicy aroma! slight hazy golden color with a well sustained head! it is what they advertise , an explosion of flavors. I don’t hate it actually! wheat and pear taste. quite fruity without too much sweetness in it. i wouldn’t drink 2 liters of it but is quite enjoyable for rainy days! no detectable bitterness and good carbonation (when young) I am overrating this beer as I see but I don’t care . I like it!! cheers

[email protected] BeerFest 2010. Hazy amber colour, small slightly off-white head. Aroma is caramel, fruit, some wood, spices and mild yeast. Flavour is rather bodied and has quite much the same elements as the aroma in a nice balance.

341 ml bottle, which totally exploded on me as soon as I opened it. Result: Only had half a bottle to drink, taste and rate. Not a good start. Pours a golden, sediment-filled white with a short-lasting white head. Taste is alright, somewhat sweet, with a hint of spices and sweetbread. Average citrusy bitterness on the finish. Body is average. It may have been better than what I rated it to be, but on the moment I had it, I was just so p***ed off I really could not enjoy it much.

Originally rated March 2006. Pours a cloudy caramel-beige colour with a nice creamy white. Retention is great, so is lacing around glass. Big fat chunks of yeast flow around the brew, with the heavy carbonation, from top to bottom. Nice citrus nose with some Belgian yeast. Thin mouthfeel, almost watery. The taste is the same for most Schoune, one that I have a problem with (except for their maple one). Hard to describe, semi-sour and feels outdated, but is pretty constant in their brews. Wish I could taste the spices they are talking about. Citric flavours with some bitterness in the finish. Light tart in the aftertaste. This one is really not for me.

Ordinaire.

pours hazy golden without a head. aroma is quite odd - sour fruits, sour apricots, acidic and semi-sweet. not exactly certain if it’s voluntary or a defect. but i do like it. light peppery finish, lightly hopped. sticky mouthfeel. reminds me of a wild ale - though it sounds a lot better when it’s for sure voluntary... good brew for the beer i’ve had!
