UPDATED: JAN 18, 2019 Pours a deep and dark brown. Minimal mocha head that dissipates quickly. Nose is cocoa powder and espresso. Wants to be a stout really bad. Medium thick brew with a well balanced creamy mouthfeel. Brownie batter, medium roast coffee, charcoal, and sweet blackberries. Finishes smooth with lingering bittersweet chocolate and ash. Low carbonation but very well done.

Taste on draft at Trail's End. Pours dark brown, with a small, tan head. Light sherry nose, with some mild coffee, pipe smoke, and caramel. Sweet and lightly roasted. Medium body, with a smooth, silky, and thin mouthfeel. This is a fun and nicely aromatic porter.

rauchbierlover (2095) - Berlin, GERMANY - AUG 7, 2018
330cl bottle. Served in TeKu. Deep black body with a small, quite persistent beige head. Aroma of coffee and wood. Taste is bitter: coffee, plums, roasted malts. Finish is dry, but somehow malty with vanilla notes. Full bodied, soft carbonation, chewy texture.

nearbeer (6765) - Knoxville, Tennessee, USA - JUL 20, 2018
330 ml. bottle with no date stamp evident. Deep ebony pour with an enduring wafer of tan creamy foam. Rich aroma of dark milk chocolate, caramel and earthy espresso. Flavors of whole grain bread, milk chocolate, espresso, toasted walnut, caramel and a hint of blackberry. Long finish has charred graham cracker and cocoa powder. Medium bodied rich malty brew pulls of a delicate balancing act quite nicely. Low-medium carbonation flares a bit and that's the only minor ding on this excellent porter.

karpik (2227) - Sosnowiec, POLAND - APR 13, 2018
Chocolate, coffee, caramel, some resin and citrusy hops in nose. Pours very dark brown with tan head. Taste is medium dry with dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, caramel and resin. Medium to high bitter finish, soft carbonation, average+ body. Overall good stuff, slightly overhopped.
