UPDATED: OCT 8, 2022 It was actually the 'special 8% release' that I tried, but it is extremely wheaty and very, very bitter. Quite nice.

Dark molasses, toasted malts, caramel, alcohol, esters. Hazy, very dark brown, medium, creamy, beige head. Light sweet. More dark malts, caramel, brown toast, light bitterness coming up, soft carbonation, medium to full bodied. Nice for the style. Bottle from Leura Cellars, Leura.

330ml bottle, pokal glass. Slight aroma of banana and bread. Beer bottle brown in colour with an off white head. Quite frothy head that holds for a few minutes, decent lacing. Medium to light sweetness and ditto for body. A little fizzy, which brings the palate to early close. Very enjoyable.

From 330 ml bottle. Pours a mostly clear mahogany brown with a sudsy beige head that soon collapses to a thin cap. Aromas of cinnamon, caramel, banana, toast, hay, tobacco and a whiff of alcohol. Taste is sweet malt up front followed up by cinnamon and nutmeg spice. There’s some banana, dark caramel, stewed fruit and some warming alcohol. Creamy mouthfeel. Good.

Bottle 33 cl from Oak Barrel, Sydney, on July 17, 2013.
Clear dark brown color, bubble teal ehad. Sweet, banana, alcohol scent. Sweet, alcohol, spicy, malty taste. Warming alcohol. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Plenty of yeast in the bottom of the bottle.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy deep ruby chestnut, with a medium off-white head, which lasts well but does not leave much lacing. The aroma mixes typical weizen banana and clove notes with cinnamon and chocolate. Mild floral hops mix with cloves and cinnamon up front, with mild banana coming into the mid-palate. There is some mild cinnamon in a dry finish. This is nice enough, but it all feels a little muted, and could do with a bit of spark to liven things up a little.

A-- Poured a dark, golden brown and settled black with tints of gold. Short lived dark brown sugar colored head that went to film quickly. Lively carbonation to this and good head retention on swirling. S-- Soft smelling banana, clove, other spices and carmel. T-- More of the same. Banana, clove and cinnamon. Very ripe banana taste. M-- High, lively carbonation. Very prickly feel. ABV is much more apparent in the mouth. Has a lot of the qualties of a dried banana in the mouth. Kind of ripe but not overripe. Banana gets much bigger as you drink on. D-- A little too much carbonation for me. It is good though. Not a big wheat beer drinker but this would work from time to time. ABV is hidden pretty well. Only in the mouth it is really noticeable.

Sevenlee (1845) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - FEB 3, 2012
Dark amber colour with an off white head. Wheaty aroma with notes of banana and caramel. Taste is also wheaty with some banana, caramel and toffee. Some interesting flavours going on there. Not bad

mkel07 (10405) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - APR 1, 2011
330ml bottle. Dark cola colour, big and brutish looking. Crackly head of full thick brown foam. Looks like a coke float. Burnt malt and rich dark toffee aromas lead into a full flavoured beer with thick syrupy flavours that stick to the roof of your mouth. Long on the palate with a warming alcohol glow in the finish.
