UPDATED: NOV 12, 2022 750 ml. bottle. 2017 vintage. Thanks ClarkVV on the share! Aroma is oak, caramel, toffee, old oak. I mean old raisins, English toffee, wood. Not massively oxidized. At this point just a normal barely wine at this point.

UPDATED: NOV 12, 2022 2017 black wax bomber drunk 11/11/22. Dark amber, spotty lacing. Smells like a barrel aged barleywine. Tastes like a barrel aged barleywine. Good texture, not boozey, some oxidation. Caramel, bread, vanilla, bourbon. Why was this beer ever famous?!

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2022 Flaska från Will, USA. 2017, rött vax. Kopparbrun med liten beige krona. Doftar av russin, likörpralin, inlagda körsbär, torkad frukt, portvin, sherry. Mellanstor kropp. Mycket fat och bourbon. Kryddigt. Humlen fortfarande närvarande, ger kryddiga toner. Old school, amerikansk BW i det något sötare skiktet. Kul och lite throwback.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2020 Bottle from a friend. Light brown color, beige head. Bitter taste with dried fruits, toffee, oak, bourbon, a bit of alcohol, nuts and resin. Bitter finish with dried fruits, toffee, oak, resin, a bit of alcohol and nuts. Excellent barley wine.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2020 Sample at Tide's Residence, Helsinki. Vintage 2017. Color is cloudy brown with very small head. Aromas and flavours: Raisins, some nuts & toffee, some ripe fruits and malts. Pretty dry. Good!

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2019 Bottle from 2017, money share. Aroma is bourbon, oak, vanilla, caramel, light port. Brown with off-white head. Taste is light bitter, bourbon, moderate sweet, vanilla, caramel. Full body, oily feel and light bitter finish with bourbon.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2019 I don’t rate anymore but figured this one was worth the time. Had at GTMW 2019 with absolutely nobody waiting for the yapped time release, crazy. Dark murky brown pour with a thin brown head and some lacing on the glass, the aroma has a strong sweet molasses like front with the barrel coming through as well. The flavor of the barrel is subtle but absolutely there, cherry and caramel mixed in with molasses. Tasty stuff.

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2019 Backlog, pours a dark brown color with a frothy head. Notes are brown sugar, wood, toffee, vanilla beans, dark fruit, cherries, and raisins. Ultra rich and warming in the body. Really nice example of a BA Barleywine. I would say the alcohol is well hidden.
