COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Available brewery conditioned and cold filtered in 500ml bottles. Cask: Special - 2011 JDW Autumn Beer Festival.
"English Halcyon malts are used together with lager malts. Golding hops provide the bitterness and aroma. The result is a highly distinctive light, golden ale similar in character to a full bodied Czech lager."

tightslice (1922) - Redwood City, California, USA - JUN 9, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 9, 2019 Bottle from Lunardi’s in San Jose, CA. Aroma is sweet fruity malt, lemon, light herbs. Taste is light lemon, herbal bitterness. A surprisingly clean and refreshing English ale that would pair nicely with grilled chicken.

Jabah (2101) - Bethesda, Maryland, USA - FEB 28, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2019 This was an offer that I couldn't refuse. 50% off clearance at Roy's Liquor in Fort Pierce, FL. I was a little sceptic because was bottle in late 2009, but it does not seem spoiled. My favorite so far from St. Pete (only sampled 3). Solid for a golden ale. Mainly sweet, wheaty, light malty flavors but with a good hop clean hop finish. Mouthfeel is crisp. May go back an see if they have another one.

KegChief19 (70) - CROATIA - AUG 9, 2018
UPDATED: AUG 9, 2018 The aroma is promising, refreshing, but the taste is a bit bitter, and the aftertaste is far more bitter than I expected. Not bad, but didn't impress.

The_Osprey (10532) - WALES - MAR 18, 2018

Oct 2008 - This is one of the first beers I ever rated. In Teresa's flat on Ninian Rd, Cardiff. Numbers only. (2.5)

July 2010 - Bottle at home in Skewen. "Poor for style". Used to buy these St Peter's beers just for the beautiful bottles to store homebrew in.

March 2018 - 500ml lovely styled bottle at home in Richmond on a snowy day watching 'Fistful of Dollars'. Nothing to do in this weather apart from drink beer and watch films. It's 10 years since I first had this beer - trying this again feels like some sort of nostalgic event. Not to get too philosophical, but life moves on very quickly. Anyway, this beer is a clear pale amber, sparkling, quickly dissipating head. The aroma is crackers, glue, some carpet underlay and sawdust. Body is quite rounded with soft carbonation. Pleasant body on it. Taste is malt-forward, buttery and metallic notes, metallic bitterness like sucking tarnished penny coins. A cleanly brewed traditional golden ale. Uninspiring and probably not long for this world, but still has a place in my heart. (4-3-5-4-12=2.8)
