hauxe (1666) - Butzbach, Hesse, GERMANY - MAR 10, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 10, 2019 From the bottle. Dark brown with a sticky, thin, beige head. Aroma is licorice and Old Bailey over cherry bonbon. Taste is mildly sweet with sour undertones. The cinnamon presents itself (subtly) at the finish. Body is medium, carbonation is mild. Pleasant stuff.

pivnizub (11590) - Bochum, GERMANY - FEB 17, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 17, 2019 Bottle: Almost black, small but persistent brownish to off-white head, moderate bitter-sweet nose of wood, chocolate and fruit-cake; mild to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, only light bodied; slightly lingering dryish toasty-fruity finish with fruity Spots and some warming ALK in the aftertaste. Not thats bad, but not completely convincing...

kappldav123 (6818) - Nordhausen, GERMANY - JAN 13, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2019 Huge thanks to Erzengel for sharing. Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass deep black, small head. Nice dry malty aroma. Starts intense malty, roasty, earthy. Stouty notes. Dry bitter background. Finish well balanced, still intense malty. Nice!

Erzengel (11150) - Saarland, GERMANY - DEC 7, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 7, 2018 Bottle from Vormann Brauerei. Fresh roasted and slightly smoky nose. The beer starts fresh and slightly sourish. Smoky hints, very dry with lots of burned grain. Sourish smoky back, sessionable and refreshing.

Tap at BKL2018, 1st&2nd batch bottles over 6month period mhd06/2019. Part of What's Brewing IV 2018 lineup. - Kurz: German collabbrewing goes dark&experimental at the highest level of BW restraint. Smooth dark mahogany pour. Restrained sweetish-wet aroma of dark roast, hint of charred liquorice and pumpernickel, hazelnut paste, vanilla. Drinks smoothly with the smoke tilting it towards a dry stout feeling, the lush tonka towards milk stout - landing it idiosyncratically between both. Cinnamon, a German-American favourite, has mercifully been given a low dosage. Given the range of adjuncts here from tonka bean to cinnamon and the well-incorporated Rauchmalz, drinkability is high and homogeneity of HQ. Needs repeated sips & samplings to truly blossom - a confident antidote to the current wave of pile-the-adjuncts-on pastry stouts.

Bottle 33cl @ Strasbourg Craft beer Festival. A dark beer with medium head. Nose is on dark malt, touch of spice. Aroma has a stout basis, some spice lice pecan notes, did not feel the lactose, grilled beans, light lactose, dry finish, pleasant. To be rerated, cinnamon is there but I did not get it.

Medium body stout beer with low carbonation. Sweet aroma of cacao and smoked malt. Soft and sweet taste of cacao, smoked sauce and a little bit of caramel. Short finish

JorisPPattyn (10826) - Wilrijk, BELGIUM - SEP 6, 2018
Good, receding greige head, fed by finely carbonated deep brown-black beer. Liquorice, plywood, chocolate bars. Sweet & dry smelling at the same time; sweet spices. Again plywood, some liquorice, cacao. Not really sweet, dryness is much more outspoken - the aroma is no doubt due to the spices used. Only in the finish the roasted malt acquire some sweetness, as well as a flavour not unlike mocha mixed with cacao powder. Pretty slick, medium to rather well bodied, good carbonation. There's a smoothness no doubt linked to the oats. Pretty interesting for a sweet sout. Danke vielmals, Sebastian S!
