355 ml bottle bought at HK Brewcraft in Central.

Looks: Opaque deep brownish black colour; Less than one-quarter finger head with residual soapy dark beige foam which fades in 30 seconds; Very good sticky lacing with no carbonation.

Aroma: Very fragrant dark malt, with very strong roastyness, strong dark chocolate / cocoa powder, strong caramel, strong sticky toffee, red fruits, cream, alcohol, floral, strong molasses, spices, earth, biscuits, light lemon and grass. Rich as hell!

Taste: Mid to strong sweet rich dark malt, with very strong roastyness, nuts, burnt toast, strong caramel, toffee, strong black coffee, strong dark chocolate, alcohol, liquorices, floral, strong molasses, strong spices, earth, herbs, biscuits, lemon, strong bitter hops and sharp grass.

Body: Full body. Oily palate.

Mouth Feel: Rich dark maltyness in a thick and very slick background. Loads of roastyness from start to finish. Good burnt toast pairs with caramel and toffee, combined with tasty strong black coffee and dark chocolate. Flowery with strong sweetness, spicy earthy biscuit with herbal lemon to round. Very fulfilling!

Alcohol: the 10.5% booze is notable but not too domineering, with liquorices contributed some of the bitterness. Quite easily for a RIS. Not bad!

Hoppiness: Floral, spices, earth, light lemon and grass in nose. Floral, strong spices, earth, herbs, lemon and sharp grass in taste; Bitterness - burnt malt, liquorices and hops - is strong for a lasting, high astringent sweet-bitter roast malty finish.

After Taste: Fairly Dry. Herbal spicy and strong bitter to mouth.

Comments: This pure RIS is damn rich in hot chocolate araoma, nice burnt toast roasty malty taste, not too boozy, with a nice herbal hoppy finish. It doen?y need any barrel aging and it?s impressively dark and lovable. Highly recommended!

More dark chocolate, dark, sweet, toasted malts, soft carbonation, full bodied. Beautiful Impy, rich and complex. Keg at The Understudy, Waterloo.

Bottle, 355mL. Home. A shining pitch black beer with a big oily brown foamy head ; good retention. Roast, black chocolate (+), coffee, alcohol, toasty notes. Medium round sweet, medium to sharp dry bitter, warming background. Full body, oily creamy texture, soft carbonation, roasty chocolate dry lasting strong finish. Overall, delciious :)

Bottle. Liquide épais, noir, visqueux avec mousse brune abondante et stable laissant des dentelles sur mon verre ’tulip’. Fines bulles. Arômes : café, réglisse, raisin, vanille ensuite porto, fumé, un peu chocolat. Saveurs : frais, sur le café, les malts torréfiés, l’alcool et une impériale amertume. Costaude cette excellente Impy !

LCI. Uit de fles geschonken. Mooie imp stout, smaken van geroosterde mout, chocola en koffie. Medium dikke textuur, mooie volle smaak. Heerlijk!

Pours blacker than the innermost parts of Khazad-dûm with a brown creamy head that dissipates quickly leaving only a thin lacing. Rich aroma of coffee, brown sugar, burnt wood, some alcohol and even the sea. Full body, oily feel, soft carbonation. Intense taste of salty licorice, bitter chocolate, roasted malt, cough syrup and a touch of dark fruits(?) with a dry and intense finish. Beware of the ABV ’cause this is seriously drinkable!

From Mikkeller Shop. In Teku glass. Watching Looper. Amazing in all aspects. Thick, with a delicious dark fruits profile. I found myself drinking it in small sips so that it never ends

Piana brązowa, obfita, drobna i trwała. Kolor czarny jak smoła, nieprzejrzysty. W zapachu głównie intensywne nuty palone, kawowe, truflowe i toffi. W smaku słodkie, gładkie, są praliny, kakao, karmelki, kawa, jest likier karmelowy a w kontrze tytoniowo palona, dość wysoka i długa goryczka. Wysycenie nieco powyżej niskiego, w odbiorze dość gęste, oleiste, lekko wyklejające, z mocno rozgrzewającym alkoholem.
Bardzo intensywny, wręcz agresywny w odbiorze RIS, aczkolwiek z miękką, aksamitną fakturą. Chyba najbardziej przypomina mi pierwsze, najlepsze warki Black z Mikkellera...
