UPDATED: MAY 26, 2021 Liquide noir profond avec mousse abondante et épaisse. Nez café mélasse et alcool. En bouche, on retrouve le nez avec une touche de réglisse avant une amertume puissante et alcooleuse ! Sublime !!!!

rumore (2975) - Rimini, ITALY - DEC 31, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2020 355ml bottle from Hopt, France. Pours fully black, dense, with just a thin line of brown foam. Aroma is intense, of liquor, wood, molasses. Body is fairly thick, with delicate tickling carbonation. Taste is well balanced with both good sweetness and bitterness, thanks to the strong alcoholic content. Final is long, warm, roasty, elegant.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2020 Bottle, 2019 vintage. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, molasses and licorice. Pours deep brown, almost black with a large mocha brown head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt, molasses and licorice flavors as well as having a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Really nice imperial stout.

LagerGuide122 (747) - - DEC 15, 2020
UPDATED: DEC 15, 2020 355ml bottle brewed in Michigan at 10.5%. Rich black with a large, longlasting, small-bubbled brown-sand head. Lightly smoky aroma, with dates, black cherries, artisan seeded bread, and a little dark chocolate. Low carbonation, robustly silky texture with good balancing dryness throughout. On texture alone this is a standout. Flavours of quality dark chocolates, of varying cocoa solid %ages all mixed together, a little chocolate ganache, black cherries, faint date, a little farmhouse bread crust, maybe a little hazelnut, or almond too. Caramel begins to peep through as the beer approaches room temperature. Absolutely top-notch Imperial Stout. This is how it's done, no gimmicks required.
