UPDATED: FEB 19, 2022 Draft at Omaha Tap Omaha. Poured black, tan head. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, coffee grounds, dark chocolate. Taste was bittersweet, coffee, alcohol, licorice.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2022 Imbottigliata il : 05/11/2019 - Bevuta il 06/01/2022. Nera, versa tre dita di schiuma color cappuccino. Aroma di caffè cioccolato, malto tostato. In bocca sentori di caffè, malto tostato cioccolato con retrogusto leggermente amaro e tostato. Corpo pieno. Complessa e ben bilanciata.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2021 Black and oily with thin head. Intensely bitter roasted malts. Elements of coffee, dark chocolate, treacle toffee and sweet vanilla. Thick and luscious. Really bitter aftertaste.

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2021 Shared with Wim at my home. Brown colored beer with small white head and no carbonation. Malty coffee roasted aroma. Full sparkling palate. Finish is malty roasted bitter.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2021 Liquide noir profond avec mousse abondante et épaisse. Nez café mélasse et alcool. En bouche, on retrouve le nez avec une touche de réglisse avant une amertume puissante et alcooleuse ! Sublime !!!!

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2021 355ml bottle from Galereya Piva in Moscow. 2019 vintage (a great year for me). Pours black with a tall tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, dark chocolate. Taste is light sweet, roasted malt, smokey, dark chocolate, liquorice. Heavy bitter finish. Full bodied. Pretty amazing.

UPDATED: APR 1, 2021 Bottle, filled 21/12/2016. Pours oily opaque black with a thick dark brown head. Strong roasty aroma with coffee, molasses and booze. Medium sweetness, minimal hop bitterness but a lot of burnt bitterness and some associated acidity in the flavour. Toast, coffee, dark chocolate, golden syrup and booze. Full body, soft carbonation, silky smooth and creamy with a long roasty finish.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2020 355ml bottle from Hopt, France. Pours fully black, dense, with just a thin line of brown foam. Aroma is intense, of liquor, wood, molasses. Body is fairly thick, with delicate tickling carbonation. Taste is well balanced with both good sweetness and bitterness, thanks to the strong alcoholic content. Final is long, warm, roasty, elegant.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2020 Bottle, 2019 vintage. Rich roasted malt aroma with notes of dark chocolate, coffee, molasses and licorice. Pours deep brown, almost black with a large mocha brown head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with rich roasted malt, molasses and licorice flavors as well as having a rich, full body and slick, viscous mouthfeel. Finishes quite smooth with dark chocolate and coffee flavors. Really nice imperial stout.
