COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Tart of Darkness is a sour Stout aged in oak, Brewed to resemble a Stout at it's foundation, the journey into darkness begins with fermentation in large oak puncheons at Bruery Terreux, where it's treated with a special blend of souring bacteria and wild yeast cultures. Following a slow but wildly active fermentation, the beer is transferred for extended aging into a dedicated collection of used oak barrels for Tart of Darkness. This includes emptied bourbon barrels from the Bruery that previously held beers such as Black Tuesday. This special edition was aged with black currants, imparting ripe, jammy notes to our awesomely dark and roasty sour Stout.

UPDATED: DEC 25, 2018 Ultra kwaśne, wykręca kubki smakowe, ekstremalne doznanie w czarnoporzeczkowym smaku. Nos bardzo ciekawy, stoutowo-beczkowy, nic nie zwiastuje ataku kwasu. Pięknie się pieni i czerni w kieliszku.

UPDATED: DEC 14, 2018 Piwo koloru czarnego, ze szybko znikającą beżową pianką, która dodatkowo posiada delikatny odcień różu. W aromacie intensywnie czuć czarną porzeczkę, stajnia, ciemne owoce, delikatny ocet, odrobina czekolady i karmelu. Zapowiada się apetycznie. W smaku bardzo kwaśne i cierpkie, aż mnie otrzepało po pierwszym łyku. Czuć porzeczki, trochę ciemnych winogron i czerwonych owoców, lekko winne, później wychodzą stajenne klimaty, delikatna deska, czekoladowy aftertaste, lekka wędzoność (?), ale to naprawdę subtelna- coś a'la oscypek. Ogólnie ser też trochę wyczuwalny Sporo ciała, nasycenie dość wysokie, alkohol idealnie ukryty. Świetne piwo.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2018 Draft pour enjoyed at Bruery Terreux, Anaheim. A darker brown pour with an obvious purple persuasion. With the base being one of my favorite brews, and a sour beer pioneer for me, I couldn't wait to try this. Tart berries, red wine combo. Lingering intense sour dark fruit. I can't put it ahead of the base, but it's a fun, unique, and delicious take. Love it.

UPDATED: DEC 4, 2018 Tap. Light hay for the malt, no noticeable hops, light to moderate dried leaves and musty for the yeast, with red wine and black currant in the background. Head is small, wispy, light purple, with some slippery lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark purple. Flavor starts heavily acidic and sour, then finishes the same. Palate is light to medium, watery, with a lively carbonation and a crazy tart finish. Excellent Sour Ale with the perfect amount of currant added.

Tap. Deep wine/violet to black, small pink head. Marvelous aroma, sour, toasty, black currant. Taste is really sour, currant, coffee, blueberries, toasted malts. Medium body, high carbonation.
Amazing sour ale, rich flavored.

Draught at BeerGeek Bar. Dark red to black colored. AROMA- fruity sour, prunes, dark fruit, coffee. FLAVOR- quite sour, dry, fresh coffee, red currant syrup, slightly tart. Medium to fuller bodied.
Tasty.

On tap at the Alibi Room, pours black with a small purpelish head. Aroma brings out lots of oak, with wood, and subtle dark fruits. Flavour is loaded with blackberries and cherries, puckering acidity, and oak barrels. Complex and well-balanced, yet assertive. Excellent.
