COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
"It has the colour of onion skin", said a voice behind me. It was Raymond Coumans. He was admiring the colour of the raspberry lambic reflecting in the red copper of the buckets used to empty the barrels. At that time (1986), "Raspberry-Lambic" already was synonymous with a sweet, artificially flavoured beer. This is why we decided to distinguish our beer from the other raspberry beers. Raymond proposed to call it a rosé, dedicated not to Bacchus but to Gambrinus.

The process to make this beer is identical to the one to make Kriek. When young, the Rosé de Gambrinus will still present its full fruity taste. Later on, the lambic taste will become dominant at the expense of the fruit taste.

2016 bottle. Hazy red beer with small, light pink head with good duration. Aroma of raspberries, berry skins, stable, barnyard and light hay. Taste is very light sweet and medium sour, of raspberry jam, fresh berries, berry skins, leather, light oak, notes of stable and barnyard. Sour and tannic raspberry woody finish. Light to medium body, soft to average carbonation. Great balance and high drinkability. Excellent fruit lambic, very nice raspberry flavour with lots of funk.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2017 W aromacie przyjemne malinowe i tak jakby różane akcenty, delikatne skórzane aromaty, lekka taniczność, octowość, stajnia mało intensywna, mocno owocowe. W smaku półwytrawne, kontrująca słodycz w tle. Na finiszu cierpkie, taniczne, pestkowe. Treściwe, intensywne, nisko wysycone, alkohol niewyczuwalny, fajnie pijalny Lambik.

Aroma: stable, leather, bit of raspberries. Taste: stable, bit sweet, then sour and strong tarty finish and aftertaste. Fine color - pink/delicate red. Head isn't impressive.

Piana średnie i duże oczka, znika. Kolor jasno czerwony, mętne. Aromat Maliny, świeże, wiśnie pestkowe, słodko kwaśny jednocześnie, przyjemny. Smak, kwaskowe, wytrawne, maliny, pestkowe wiśnie, lekko cierpkie, dębina z taninami. Piwo ciekawe, kwaśność średnia, nie przesadzona mimo wytrawności jest odrobina pełni i słodyczy, Bardzo Dobre.

W aromacie czuć malinkę, trochę też wiśnie (?) i lekko róże. Poza tym aromat typowo lambikowy. Piwo czerwone, lekko mętne. W smaku mocno owocowe, słodko-kwaśne, bardzo pijalne, można go wypić dużo. Trochę zalega na przełyku. Pita wersja tegoroczna (2017), ciekawi mnie, jak smakuje takie piwo po zleżeniu jakiegoś czasu w piwnicy. Ogółem bardzo przyjemny lambic, naprawdę.

2006: Amber. Aroma is raspberry marmelade, caramel: Taste is very sour raspberry, very dry. 2017: Ruby. Fruitier. More sour, not so dry, reminds more of raspberry leaves. Overall quite drinkable and fruity. I like both. But the old one is somehow more complex. Interesting.
