jb (4622) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 9, 2020UPDATED: JUL 9, 2020 I enjoyed this, not loved it, not a gigantic fan of the style, but I especially like the hoppier American versions like this. Big, intense, hoppy, sweet, malty, boozy.
Cousin_Larry (1001) - - MAY 30, 2020UPDATED: MAY 30, 2020 Bought a crowler from Three Cellars, who put all my beer in my trunk at a curbside pickup. Love that place! I actually thought this was a DIPA instead of a barleywine. Aroma is straight booze. Pours amber with a thick head that leaves moderate lacing. Flavor is sweet caramel with a pretty wickedly bitter aftertaste. I love booze so this works for me.

willisread (6955) - Detroit, Michigan, USA - FEB 19, 2019UPDATED: FEB 19, 2019 Bottle shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Thanks Joe! Pours a deep golden amber with a finger of foam that lingers. Grassy hops, toasted caramel, toasted molasses and big, chewy breaded malt aromas. Nice and dry on the palate with more toasted whole grain bread, honey, toffee raisin and faint smoked caramel. Great peppery hop and grassy notes towards the finish. A big beer but great balance and not overly sweet like a lot of #bil these days.

Pours dark copper brown with a small off white wisp. Aroma is sweet caramel with a small alcohol burn. Some raisin and plum. Taste is awesome. It has held up sooo well. Sweetness with a light alcohol burn. Light raisin and plum. Smooth and creamy. More please!
