COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Based on our beloved Tank 7, this astonishing saison is assertively dry-hopped with Amarillo, Calypso and Citra hops, then bottle conditioned with Brettanomyces, a strain of wild yeast that imparts a distinctive earthy quality. Warm cellared for three months, the Brett character is deliciously apparent on release, but it’s just getting started.

75cl LOT011317-1 bbJAN2019 paired with lasagne formaggio. - - Towering white Belgian head over limejuice body, not the easiest even if careful pour. - - Lovely naturally fruity&funky aroma of orchard peaches, sweet apple, preserved lemon peel, some of those Duvel peardrops - the Moortgat pedigree overall very present here form abv to appearance to lean body to aroma. Opens up into white wine, chardonnay. Crowdpleasing hop cocktail: green grape, sweet lemon candy. Drinks like a slender, less hot Duvel Tripel hop attenuated by brett that imparts more ochard flavour & in my opinion, tops it. Less aggressive carbonation than most Belgian Golden Ales, works well for me. A next-tier improvement over the somewhat basic Tank7 now distributed all over Duvel-Moortgat's home base. - Note: this bottle purchased pre-aged, probably smoothed out some of that fresh brett+dryhop "soap" some reviews mention, to render a lovely hybrid between Duvel Tripel Hop and chardonnay.
