UPDATED: JAN 22, 2019 Delicious. Significantly acidic, somewhere aroung perceptibility of vinegar (what I absolutly adore). Plum preserves, cherry stones, raspberries are less noticeable of the two additives. Delicate chocolate character :o Long-sipper, demanding, entertaining Flanders. Bottle at Au Trappiste. Pours unclear dark brown. Aroma is glue, dried dark fruit, dried cherries. Body is medium, super sour and tart, strong carbonation. Quite sticky sweetness, some fruit, cherries, mostly candy. Good. PowY (1939) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - SEP 30, 2018
From bottle at Biercafe Au Trappist, Bern, during Zwanze Day 2018. Chestnut color with a small, tan-colored head. Aroma of dark berries, cherries, marzipan, wood and cocoa. Medium body with a soft carbonation, a medium to medium-heavy sourness and a light tartness. The flavor starts with unripe berries, raspberries, blackberries, red currant, some cherries, some lightly roasted malt, hints of cocoa, licorice and wood. Finishes dry with a light tartness. Really good! The sour notes, barrel and fruits are well blended, maybe a tad too much on the acidic side.
