UPDATED: MAY 1, 2022 Can sample at a tasting. Hazy brown with beige head. The aroma has notes of caramel, coffee,, earthy, dark bread. The flavor is mild sweet and mild bitter with notes of coffee, dark bread, lagerish. Slightly dry, light to medium-bodied.

UPDATED: JUN 17, 2021 12 fl oz can from an online store. Pours a nice dark brown with a one finger head; aroma of molasses, brown sugar and some chocolate. Quite a watery mouthfeel and overpowering carbonation with a slightly unbalanced coffee taste and perhaps some hops. Average, perhaps.

Classic brown ale, possibly the overall best American version of the style, with hearty notes of cocoa, toasted nuts, and warm pumpernickel, with hints of apple, roast, and an easygoing bitterness on the back end. Great, welcoming pint.
