From tap at Craft Beer Festival Thun 2018. Brown color with a tan colored head. Very intense aroma of fir needles and resin - these aromas are so intense that everything else is overpowered. Medium body with a light sourness and a light tartness. The flavor is again full of fir needles - not as intense as in the aroma - accompanied by some sour and tart berries, hints of red currant, hints of vinegar followed by some lightly roasted malt, cocoa. Pithy with fir needles throughout yet with a good overall balance.

At the Barrel Society 2018. Pours clear dark amber. Aroma is pure spire and pine tree, really smells like a fresh Christmas tree. Body is medium, quite bitter, citric fruit and pine, a bit of black tea, low carbonation. Less Christmas tree than on the nose. Still, a good beer. Bov (14988) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JUL 11, 2018
@Biercafé Au Trappiste - quite clear ruby-brown beer with a moderate head retention; aroma of mushrooms, pine needles and prunes; low carbonation, medium-bodied, umami, earthy, woody finish with lingering notes of prunes and pines - fresh
