Cask Handpump at Cains Brewery Tap, Liverpool 17/12/2010 (As Christmas Ale ABV 4.7%)
Big fruit aroma. White head. Golden bronze coloured and hoppy with some alcohol present. Fruity banana flavour with a bitter malt finish.
Also sampled in the midst of the heaviest snowstorm I’ve ever seen in Liverpool city centre! sdhunterx (1) - SCOTLAND - DEC 22, 2010 does not count
Tried this in the ’Brewery Tap’ when visiting Liverpool. Well worth it. Took a while to get used to the ’mulled wine’ taste but soon found I loved it. A lovely warming beer. And it started to snow! Fin (12527) - Attenkirchen, GERMANY - MAY 9, 2006
Picked this in bottle a couple of times now Dark amber in colour bit fruity and spicey with a nice sweetness, very full of flavour and one of the better beers that I’ve had from Cains. nigos (631) - Ipswich, Suffolk, ENGLAND - JAN 7, 2004
Dark amber hue with a decent white head. Flowery grassy hoppy nose with a spicey twist. Nutty spicey taste with earthy tones. A decent Christmas ale. RobBestwick (1116) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - JAN 4, 2004
fruity and fig like malty aroma, bronze hue with a small head, rich fruit cake flavour, spicey notes with a firm body, bitter and fruity finish, a good christmas ale.

Bottled, Pasteurised. Copper coloured beer with thin head. Spicey big flavoured beer. Apple, raisins and sultanas to the fore. Sweet with little finish Gr0ve (2176) - Oslo, NORWAY - JAN 25, 2003
UPDATED: AUG 29, 2003 A well-made beer. Nice mouthfeel. Sweetness with hints of cinnamon. Excellent christmas beer. Joeh (2049) - Buckinghamshire, ENGLAND - DEC 6, 2002
Huge, spicy aroma of hops and fruit. Copper colour, medium carbonation and only a slight head. Very tasty, fruit, hops and spice - very slightly watery despite the 5% abv. Christmas ales probably should be a little less easy drinking and more full bodied - but good none the less. Bov (14987) - Bienne, SWITZERLAND - JAN 9, 2001
strange red-amber colour, few foam, artichoke aroma, fruity and spicy with a subtile bitterness
