Bottle, 1998 vintage found after many years in my shed. Pours clear reddish brown, clear as a bell after all these years. Aroma is dominated by sweet cherry brandy. Didn’t like this beer when it came out, so either it’s aged well or I have as, I have to say, it’s pretty good. Main taste is cherry, with some malt, dry finish, slightly woody, but not stale. Still some carbonation. Looks like my shed, which had a leaking roof for the first seven months of this year, is as good as any cellar!

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2017 Zakupione na swieta w markecie Hypernova. Jak na brytyjskie jest stosunkowo goryczkowo, nieco prazonych ziaren w tle karmelowej lekkiej slodowosci

Bottle (1999 vintage) at ChrisO’s "Raise the Roof" tasting, 31st July 2010. Stale almonds on the nose. Rather nicer in the mouth, with hazelnut and violet flavours. Surprisingly good for a ten year old bottle!

Bottle, ’99 vintage @ Chriso’s pre-GBBF ’Raise the Roof’ Tasting ’10. Poured with a fine biege head atop an amber/chestnut brown body. Mint, hazelnut & almond, stale malt, fruit with some woodiness on the nose. Creamy, plummy almonds and cinnamon flavours. Soft with low carbonation, medium body and a nutty, spicey sweet finish. Held up pretty well.

Bottle of the 1999 version at chriso’s pre-GBBF ’Raise the Roof’ Shindig ’10. Amber. Odd nutty, musty aroma: apparently almonds. I detected natural gas in the taste as well as earthiness.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2010 Bottle at Chris’ Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia tasting. Cloudy brown, lasting beige head. Cherry hits you up front. Lovley cherry flavour I thought. Really drinkable and I liked it. 837315 3.6/5.0 Separate rate for 1999 with the almonds. Bottle at ChrisO "I’m Trying to see the Stool" pre GBBF2010 tasting. Stale malt aroma, hazelnuts come through. Sweetish, and I rather liked it. Deent. Love the tangerine/orange fruit. Lovely nuts. 638316 3.6/5.0
