Brownish/yellow with a small head. Rather vinous, it reminded a bit of Madeira. Dried fruit, some butter, toffee, nuts, some dust. Not much carbonation left. Also some light spices. Still drinkable. I wonder how it tasted 6 years ago? Now I finally have sampled all the vintages of NO Julöl.

Aroma is sweetish and rather peppery and spicy. Flavour is really spicy with some hints of sweet malt, caramel and raisins in the background. A bit too spicy for my liking, didn’t really notice that this was four years old stuff.
(Bottle at Pikkulintu, Helsinki, on 2008-12-13) Dark reddish brown. Medium sized white quickly disappearing head. Raisins and sweet malts in nose. Full bodied and dry palate with little carbonation. Honey and nettles aroma. Buttered hot cross buns in the taste. Nettles too. Quite odd, but not unpleasant. Quite a sharp palate, and a buttery finish.
(Bottled) Hazy, darkish red-amber with a small, tanned head. Port-raisiny aroma with lots of dried, dark fruit and cardamom spiciness. Flavor of chocolate cake, dark fruit and some caramely-malty sweetness. Medium body with soft, lowish carbonation. At 2 years, this is probably close to its peak. Thick brown foam that stays. Reddish colour.
Aroma of madeira wine, caramell malt and a little acidity.

Brown with medium off white head. Sweet aroma with notes of roasted malt, spices, caramel and overripe fruits. Sweet flavor with roasted malt, overripe fruits and chocolate. Ends sweet.
