COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This years Zwanze is a result of blending three separate lambics that have been aged in Amarone, Chianti and Sangiovese red wine barrels from Italy. It is a fruity beer with notes of mango and citrus and a fine, lingering mouthfeel. It's wine-like character is not only evident but accentuated by a slight woodiness.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2019 On tap at Saint Somewhere. Clear golden. Smells of strong wine, fruity, a little citrus acidity. Tastes of equally strong red and white wine. Grainy with a little dried grass. Long fruity and winey finish. Medium body. Excellent. Dominated by the wine barrels, but the strong flavors take nothing away from it.

UPDATED: DEC 5, 2018 Tap @ Himmeriget, Denmark. Pours lightly hazy darkish orange with a small white head. Notes of sweet oak, grapey notes, classic fresh cantillon gueuze bitterness and funk, orange, citrus. This will be fun to try again sometime, hopefully.

Flaska drucken på bryggeriet. En i grunden klassisk gueuze med lätt sötma från druvorna men ändå riktigt torr, en hel del fat, lätt vinös och med en tydlig grapestram syrlighet och beska. Mycket gott.

Bottle @ Cantillon. Pours amber copper with a small creamy head. Extremely woody and vinous. Deep complex nose of red wine, wood and barnyard. Tart and dry with the red wine lingering. Lovely - really liked this one.

Colore oro, schiuma media poco persistente, lieve carbonazione.

kraddel (10701) - Antwerp, BELGIUM - OCT 23, 2018
Bottle at the brewery. Pours rather clear blonde. Small white head not very stable. Scent is strong. Intense woody and very funky. Mineral, slight Sulphur, as is typical for cantillon. Taste is full, funky, rather dry. Very oaky, but the wine itself is very subtile. Sulphuric. Very funky. A very nice beer indeed, but just a shadow of the amazingness I expired in some other beers by cantillon.
