Bottle at Au Trappiste. Pours clear amber. Aroma is raspberry, funk, little barrel. Body is medium, sour and tart, quite fruity, raspberry, mealy, lively to fizzy carbonation, but really mostly sourness. Dry, of course. Good, but a bit simple. PowY (1944) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - SEP 30, 2018
From bottle at Biercafe Au Trappist, Bern, during Zwanze Day 2018. Hazy dirty orange to light brown color with virtually no head. Aroma of raspberries, lactic acidity, black currant, some wood, tart berries and light musty notes. Medium body with a soft carbonation, a medium to heavy sourness and a very light tartness. The flavor is full of unripe raspberries, some balsamic vinegar, lactic acidity, unripe red currant, lemon and some wood. Finishes dry. Overall with nice raspberry flavors but a little heavy on the sourness/acidity.
