Got in a BIF from TheDoctor. Rated blind. 500 ml bottle into snifter, bottled on 5/17/2018. Pours nearly opaque dark brown/black color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whipped cream, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, toasted biscuit, and dark fruit; with lighter notes of smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. A bit too fruity/yeasty aromas, but not overwhelming. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with solid strength. Taste of big milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whipped cream, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, and toasted biscuit; with lighter notes of dark fruit, smoke, char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate Light-moderate herbal, grassy, peppery hop; and roast/char bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, toffee, whipped cream, nuttiness, dark/brown bread, toasted biscuit, light smoke/char, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a great roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying/acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium-plus carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is an excellent imperial milk stout! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roast/bready malts, lactose, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV with the mellowly bitter/drying finish. Nicely rich English malt complexity, lactose, balancing earthy hops against sweetness, and restrained English yeast presence. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example. bigbird77 (12) - - AUG 4, 2018

Solid Milk Stout, this micro doesn't deceive you. I like this region for their great food, great art, great scenery, and now great beer. Odd name, I can live with that.

Aroma : chocolate, coffee // Appearance : black // Taste : sweet, bitter // Palate : too fizzy for a stout, thin // Overall : the aroma is there, the taste is there, lacking a whole lot of texture. Still a good beer. jksipa (1273) - Newmarket, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 3, 2017
Bottle from La Fringale du Monde. Opaque mahogany under a two finger rocky khaki coloured head that lingers and leaves tight lace. Nose is dark chocolate, coffee, lactose, light vanilla, roasted nuts and hints of plum. Flavour is light+sweet milk chocolate with a medium- coffee bitterness and a slight cherry tartness. Mouth is medium+ and creamy with soft carbonation and a medium length bitter finish. Alcohol is well integrated. Nice Milk stout.

Some milky smoothness, bit unbalanced home brew, light floral, cocoa, lactose. Moderate sweetness. Light bitterness. Lovely, but nothing too fancy
