Restrained tropical aroma in a golden amber pour. Similarly laid back hop forward balance but lacking a distinct body while finish has too much alcoholic heat for my taste. No match for their excellent Big Swell IPA (in my book at least). jinroh (1578) - ESTONIA - JUL 10, 2017
Pours clear golden with not too excessive white head. Hops are already shooing themselves in aroma, still quite soft and fruity ones. Herbal kick still there. Taste is superbly balanced, bitterness feels somehow separated from the overall soft melony fruity feel this beer has. I don’t know if its just me but recently many beers feel herbal and bitter, also this one. Sweetness has been balanced out nicely, so the alcohol (8.5% or 9%) is nowhere to be seen! Very nice and super drinkable double IPA. Really need to get to Maui sometime soon! crossovert (12874) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 23, 2017

355ml can. Lightly hazed amber gold pour. Aroma is bittersweetness herbs and citrus. Caramel. Falvor is bitter, resinous, piney, candylike. Decent for its strength.
Post tasting thoughts:
This was one of the better ones in the taasting due to its lack of booziness.
Draft. Amber beer with a cream head. Malt and grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and light pine flavor with caramel. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Caramel and grapefruit lingers with light tropical fruit. superspak (5581) - Michigan, USA - JUN 20, 2017
12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 5/9/2017. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep golden/yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and fluffy off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon zest, orange peel, light pepper, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, lemon/orange peel, pepper, pine, cracker, bread, light honey, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderate crisp, bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resinous balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is an excellent DIPA! All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and pretty refreshing to drink; with the balanced bitter/drying finish. Very dank, vibrant, and juicy on hops; just enough malt to balance the bitterness. Tastes pretty much identical to Big Swell; but a bit more bitter and less malty(despite the higher ABV). A very enjoyable offering.

Orange pour from can at home. White head. Bitter and hoppy but fruity and smooth. Citrus and grapefruit. Pine. Best Maui I've had. Tmoney99 (14455) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - MAR 6, 2017
Poured hazy copper color with an average frothy off-white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy complex west coast aroma. Moderate to heavy bittersweet flavor with a moderate to heavy citrus bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. Medium to full body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Very good brew. gyllenbock (9156) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - JAN 30, 2017
On tap at Bottlecraft Little Italy, San Diego. A bit hazy orange with a white head. Fresh with hops, orange, pineapple and some light malt. The body was medium and the finish quite bitter. Dogbrick (13003) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 1, 2016
Sample at GABF 10/08/2016, thanks to my sis for assistance with note-taking. The beer is a hazy golden color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Tropical fruit, hops and malt in the nose. Medium to full body with flavors of floral hops, tropical fruits and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Pretty good overall. djd07 (14469) - Houston, Texas, USA - SEP 24, 2016
