UPDATED: APR 27, 2020 Pints at Tilt, 16/09/19. Outrageous gritty cafetière bottoms partnered with lush blueberry and glossy blackcurrant. Juicy fruit above all. Smattering of burnt toast. Rocky beige over filthy pitch. Brimstone and black fruit. Great.

Scopey (20480) - Oldmeldrum, SCOTLAND - NOV 13, 2019
UPDATED: NOV 13, 2019 Bottle at Craftsman Company. It pours jet black with a thick tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, big piney character, green / weedy, dark chocolate, rocky road, cookie dough and black jacks. The taste is dry, toasty, rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, cacao nibs, peppery spice, liquorice, umami, earth, charred wood, pine, touch of ash and a touch of pithy citrus. Lingering bitter - dry finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Well put together and quaffable stuff.

UPDATED: OCT 22, 2019 Bottle courtesy of Jonas, cheers Jonas! Shared with the RB München Tasting Group at Jonas's, Garching Tuesday 22nd October 2019. Nice dry and the roastiness shines, hops also quite pushy but don't detract, soft a lingering bitter roastiness. Good, really good.

ianwelby (2528) - Hamilton, SCOTLAND - OCT 19, 2019
UPDATED: OCT 19, 2019 Black beer, lively brown head. Smell is a mix of toasty malt and zesty hop. Flavour follows suit, with dry malt, a little grassy citrus from the hops and some dark chocolate. It's like the flavours of a black IPA with the richness and body of a stout and I like it a lot.

Leighton (28282) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - OCT 12, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2020 Keg at LCBF 2019, Friday evening session. Pours deep brown with a foamy, tan head. Great ashy roast character, citrus peel, burnt pine, baking cocoa. Light bodied with average carbonation. Further sturdy ashy roast in the finish, more burnt pine. Great stuff. (Also had a bottle of this at home just to confirm that it is, in fact, great stuff.)
