UPDATED: DEC 26, 2022 Das neunte Bier aus dem French Craft Brewers Adventskalender.  Als Sansculottes wurden in der Zeit der Französischen Revolution die Pariser Arbeiter und Kleinbürger bezeichnet, die im Gegensatz zu den von Adligen und Klerus getragenen Kniebundhosen lange Hosen trugen, wie sie zur Arbeit geeignet waren. Sansculottes sind demnach Menschen, die von körperlicher Arbeit leben.  Der Geruch ist nach Karamell und einem starken Malz Körper. Es sind auch Röstaromen dabei. Die Farbe des Bieres ist jedoch goldgelb und trüb. Der Schaum ist feinporig, beim Einschenken Daumen dick und fällt recht schnell zusammen. Beim Antrum stellt man schon fest, dass man es mit einem sehr auffälligen und aussergewöhnlichen bier zu tun hat. Die Rezenz ist sehr hoch was man normalerweise negativ ankreiden könnte. Da hier aber Weißwein Geschmack und sehr leichte Hefe als völlig bier untypische Geschmacks Richtung habe, ist auch die viele Kohlensäure irgendwie passend. Beim Abgang kommt dann noch mal prickelnd wie Sekt und die Kohlensäure bitzelt noch einer Weile am Gaumen. Diese Biersorte war mir bisher völlig unbekannt, da der Alkohol so gut verbaut ist sollte hier auch irgendeiner Warnung angebracht werden. Unbedingt probieren es lohnt sich! 12-2018

UPDATED: SEP 21, 2021 330ml bottle. Poured a hazy golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, yeast, light toffee, light floral hop. The flavour is light bitter, with a crisp, yeasty, dry, herbal, floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2020 Bottle 33cl. @home poured into a tumbler. Toffee nose. Slightly unclear pale golden colour, good moussy white head, half-way lasting, fair lacing. Aroma sweet malt, toffee, honey, vanilla. Taste medium sweet and light bitter, malty, caramel, honey, light vanilla, spicy yeast. Medium body, creamy texture, average carbonation, short mild sweet and slightly bitter aftertaste, remarkable fresh, certainly not too sweet, tasty, quite good.

UPDATED: MAY 31, 2020 Bottled, 750ml cork & caged from the Auchan Supermarche, Louvroil, France. Gold with white head. There is a heady, spicy yeasty character to this from the off. Boiled pear drop flavours with an ester like background, quite flowery and even perfumed flavours. Some citrusy flavours come through, hopped, tangy. It's fine.

UPDATED: MAR 27, 2020 33cl bottle from Beerwulf webshop. F: medium, white, not long lasting. C: gold, light hazy. A: malty, caramel, mellow fruity, spicy, bit bready, banana. T: medium malty base, mellow fruity, bready and spicy touch, banana, bit clove, medium carbonation, quite nice for the boring style yet enjoyed for sure.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2021 Copenhagen 20/3 2020. 75 cl corked bottle from Brdr. D's Vinhandel, Østerbrogade. Kbh. Ø. Drawing of Sans Culottes in their striped trousers without breeches running around with guns and flags on the label. Pours slightly unclear, yellow with a big white head. Fairly stable. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of the beer. Moderate lacing. Aroma is rather intense, very malty and sweet with sweet fruity notes and a herbal touch. Pale sweet malts, sugar, honey, apricot and sweet peach. Light sourish, grainy odor underneath. Medium strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lightly tingling texture. Flavor is medium intense and very sweet. Followed by a medium strong harsh bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undercurrent. Lingers for a while. Boozy tang. Semi-dry finish. Malty, boozy endeavor - with a surprisingly bitter finish.

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2020 Blonde and poured with a small head. Slightly spicy with gentle floral bitterness. Less body than I anticipated considering its strength. Worth trying.

UPDATED: DEC 20, 2019 This is a backlog rating from 2012 from a bottle shared by a friend, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are grapefruit citrus, pale malts, funk.

UPDATED: SEP 15, 2019 Tastes thinner and lighter than 9%. It has a strange cloying bitterness that I don't like, and it dominates the beer. The malt underneath is fairly nice though. online saveaur bier.
