ALLOVATE (3585) - Perth, AUSTRALIA - AUG 26, 2021
UPDATED: AUG 26, 2021 Into an Oktoberfest dimple at just on chilled. Honey hued and not quite bright in the glass. Deep, rich amber body and shimmering in the lights. Compact, tight off-white crown dons it weaving a messy lace. Nutty, dried fruit and umami nose hinting at a fresh roasted trail mix and toffee brittle. On the palate it is a collection of the nose amplified. Deliciously malty; melanoidins on high. Light smoke, burnt wood, red wood, roasted nuts with toffee flourishing. A mix of hop and malt on the finish offering a subtle bitterness. Lengthy, nutty and granola-like malty swallow. Aftertaste of smoky malt and burnt caramel. Body is medium-light and the carbonation gives it a soft feel with only mild spritz upfront. Absolutely a harmonious and well crafted lager. Sessionable and contemplative. A delight!!! UPDATED: JUL 27, 2021 Draught at Rail Trail Flatbread, 7/24/21.
Light amber-to-copper-golden, good clarity. Off-white head atop is small and shows moderate-to-low retention.
Nose is bready and caramelly and with very minimal hops. Maybe a bit of herbal/earthiness at best. But it's clean and the malt is mostly filled by the base malt without an overabundance of specialty (vienna) malt. No alcohol or flaw.
Soft, malty and well-attenuated with a bit of toastiness on the finish and plenty of breadiness through the middle. Honey, cream and lightly earthy hops also enter the mix with engaging carbonation and no alcohol or flaw. Yep, it's a Vienna.

UPDATED: JUL 2, 2021 Clear medium brown, foamy light tan head. Caramel malts, hint of brown bread, honey, slightly grassy and nutty finish. Great vienna, on the sweet side, but enjoyable. Would happily drink this by the case or keg. Can from DTC in Gburg, MD.

Kleg (1888) - The Beach, Florida, USA - MAY 8, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 8, 2021 16 oz. can from The Mansion. Pours a crystal clear bronze color with a large, thick khaki head and great retention. Very good lacing. Pretty pour. Caramel malt aroma. Good malt flavor with light caramel and light hops notes. Super smooth and clean. Lightly crisp mouthfeel. Easy finish. Not bitter. Crushable. Well done amber.

hawthorne00 (6381) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAY 3, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 3, 2021 Can. Deep amber with a fine off white head. Shy aroma of light biscuit and floral/ woody hops. Sweet with quite a lot of caramelised notes before firmish bitterness that has some spices as well. Nice how it's decently hoppy but the malt flavours don't get swept away too soon. Good in a style that rarely excites.
