COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Barrel-aged in Woodford Reserve barrels. Brooklyn Black Ops does not exist. However, if it did exist, it would be a robust stout concocted by the Brooklyn brewing team under cover of secrecy and hidden from everyone else at the brewery. Supposedly, "Black Ops" was aged for four months in bourbon barrels, bottled flat, and re-fermented with Champagne yeast, creating big chocolate and coffee flavors with a rich underpinning of vanilla-like oak notes. They say it’s vanishingly rare. We have no idea what they’re talking about.

tastycan (35) - Singapore, SINGAPORE - APR 20, 2023
UPDATED: APR 20, 2023 Black coffee complection with fine micro bubble lacing of head. Chocolate, berries, coffee, and rye aroma finish. Surprised by how sweet it is upfront, but then gets dry and very drinkable. It helps if you like chocolate. Better to go slowly for the 11% abv.

nuplastikk (9838) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - APR 2, 2023
UPDATED: APR 2, 2023 Tap at DU. Perhaps this hasn't aged well. Raisiny prune tones, barrel heat, odd herbal, medicinal feel. Not in good shape.

jrodooo5 (2791) - DOVER, Delaware, USA - JAN 2, 2023
UPDATED: JAN 2, 2023 Black pour w/ a retaining tan head. Aroma is light bourbon & mild roast. Flavor is right on point with the scent. No flaws but nothing stands out either. Just an all around solid BB stout!

UPDATED: FEB 19, 2022 From the Bottle at Chris O's Pre-GBBF Shindig 04/08/2012 Hop and roast aromas. Beige pink head. Black rich on the palate and strong in alcohol with a hint of dryness in a smooth bitter and chocolaty roast finish.

Dorwart (2812) - Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA - FEB 13, 2022
UPDATED: FEB 13, 2022 Thin blown head of fine bubbles. Says it was bottled 2017. Nice strong dark chocolate and licorice aroma. Light bourbon, sweet malts and molasses. Color basically black. Great flavor, lots of dark roasted malts, burnt toast, anise and roasted grains. Slightly chalky and dry on the palate. Solid alcohol presence. Very well balanced. Not a lot of barrel aging characteristics. A solid imperial stout that has aged magnificently.

JDBaker11058 (3946) - Sandy Spring, Maryland, USA - JAN 10, 2022
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2022 Creamy near black pour, tan ring. Dark and milk chocolate, vanilla, oak, molasses, caramel, treacle. Smooth and rich, but somehow drinkable with no rough edges. How have I never had this old stalwart before. Magisterial and immaculate. Instantly moves to my top 1%. Bottle courtesy of and shared with Zoltan.

UPDATED: NOV 14, 2021 My can says this was aged in Four Roses Single batch barrels and is 12.4% abv. Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is a huge vanilla and wood. Flavor is a thick. heavy syrupy malt with maple syrup and some bourbon notes. This was super thick and heavy with a lot of bourbon. Flavorful with almost all bourbon and very warming.
