COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In contrast to all the others, the Orval Trappist brewery makes only one beer for the general public. It has an intensely aromatic and dry character. Between the first and second fermentations there is also an additional dry-hopping process. Through this the beer acquires its pronounced hoppy aroma and extra dry taste.
Bottled at 5.2% abv - can go up as high as 7.2%

Malty taste, but different from the pack and not sweet . Well balanced with aromatic hops. Bitterness lingers.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2018 Pours dark orange and well carbonated with a loose pearly head. The moderate aroma reminds me of candy sugar, citrus and orange peals with a slightly grassy funk. It has a strong presence in the mouth with a bitter, dry and almost chalky finish. The flavour of sweet malt plays well with the returning candy and orange, leading to a hint of lemongrass. A truly unique Trappist.

Barwa złoto-pomarańczowa, piana gęsta i wysoka. Po otwarciu z butelki wydobywają się nuty szampanowe, po przelaniu wyczuwalne więcej nut brzoskwiniowych oraz przyprawowych. W smaku niestety pustka, delikatnie wyczuwalny jakby tytoń. Mocno nasycone co utrudnia konsumpcję. Plus w ogólnej ocenie za ładną butelkę.

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2018 I think this beer is a bit overrated. It’s good, but lacking the bubblegum belgian flavour i love in most of them. Craft beer store dresden

UPDATED: OCT 11, 2018 Color naranja oscuro y transparente. Espuma blanca muy alta y persistente. Aroma intenso, chispeante, floral y lupulado. Sabor a cereal. Fácil de beber. Con ganas de repetir.

Bottle, pours deep hazy orange with everlasting white head. 6.2% ABV version bottled June 2018. Typical lively pour that you get with the trappist ales, well carbonated with lovely champagne mouthfeel. Taste is far more sour that I expected which worked well with spicy notes, yeast, orange peel, rather tart bitter finish. I'll buy this again and age a bottle or two as imagine it would improve significantly over time.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2018 Enjoyed in Oostende. Bottle. Rich, thick white head that is very persistent and consistent. Aroma is bready and yeasty. Flavours are similar. Quite carbonated and refreshing but doesn’t make a huge impact on my palate. Not a very memorable beer.

UPDATED: SEP 25, 2018 For me one of the best trappist beers (and from all kind of beers). Delicous and dedicated aroma and taste. Its difficult to get this beer cause there is a lot more demand then production. Very Good beer
