COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout consistently beats out international stouts in blind tastings and competitions. This intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. The oatmeal contributes body and ensures a long-lasting mocha-coloured head. If you like stout, you will love St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout.

neongolden (4394) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 3, 2023
UPDATED: DEC 3, 2023 (473ml can from Intermarché Saint-Jean, Quebec City) Pours black with a thick pale brown head and some lace. Aroma of heavily roasted malts, some golden fruity treacle sweetness, cocoa, burnt coffee, dark bread. Flavour is lightly sweet, overall quite dry, some light treacle with stewed fruit, burnt grain, oats, stale coffee, a little cacao, rather mineral, bone dry bitter burnt grain finish, quite mineral/crisp in the aftertaste, some lingering fruity malt but fairly short finish. Light body, a bit overcarbed and watery. Purchased to use in a chocolate cake instead of Guinness (with its import markup) and drank the other half of the can. Remember drinking this by the 20oz pint in the early days of grad school 15+ years ago. A lot has changed since then, but it's okay.
