UPDATED: MAY 2, 2018 On tap at the Shed in Healdsburg, CA. Aroma is lightly burnt coffee. Taste is roasted malts, burnt bark...very earthy / woodsy. Enjoyed this more because of the food and company ;).

Can with huge thanks to joe, I missed this one a couple years ago at Toronado in SF and always wanted to try. Pours a thicker black with creamy off white, large, and lasting head. Tons of lace. Notes of perfect roasted malt, dark fruit, piney Cali hops, lager yeast, coffee, toast, and german earth. Insanely drinkable dark beer. Cheers

Tap at red cow edina with commonmac. Cola brown black with medium off white head. Roasty malt and slightly smoky nose. Rich layered flavor of malty sweetness and some smoke. Not totally my style, but ok.
