"The Legend". Brewed using a generous blend of finest pale, crystal and roasted barley malts, along with the majestic Fuggle hop, to create a wonderful, full-bodied flavour with subtle banana, cherry and rich fruit overtones.

A peculier tale:
Theakston’s most famous ale takes its name from the seal of the Peculier Court of Masham, which was granted back in the 12th century. It was the custom at the time for the church to administer the law, but this proved too arduous a task for the then Archbishop, who was based in York. So, with due archiepiscopal aplomb, he set up the independent Peculier Court, headed up by the Peculier of Masham.

schenk (53) - - JUN 7, 2019

DocJitsu (2393) - Pensacola, Florida, USA - APR 7, 2019
UPDATED: APR 7, 2019 This bottle is several years old. Maybe 11? Pours a plummy brown with no head. Date and custard nose and flavors. Flavors are more subdued than the nose suggests. Smooth mouthfeel with a bit of carbonation.

Dorqui (2895) - Brescia, ITALY - APR 4, 2019
UPDATED: APR 4, 2019 Bottled 0,50L. Dark brown color, light unclear aspect with modest bubbly and creamy beige head of medium duration. Pleasant and equilibrate alcoholic and roasty aroma, sweet caramel, spiced, cellar. Medium prickly taste, mellow mouth with agreable alcoholic and smoot caramel palate, long sweet caramel and light braced malt final.

LittleShit (201) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 29, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2019 500ml. Really surprised I have not had this classic before now. Pours a dark brown with a 1 finger tanned colour head. First thing, is the complexity took me off-guard. The aroma is minimal, just big dark roasted malts. The malts however, just keep chewing through. 5.6 abv and it definitely feels bigger than that. A little too syrupy and liquorice for me. But, it is a decent brew.

rumore (1725) - Rimini, ITALY - MAR 22, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 22, 2019 50cl bottle from Iperconad, Rimini, Italy. Pours plum dark, almost black, with limited yellowish foam, very fine. Aroma is weak roasted, some bubblegum. Body is moderately dense with good carbonation. Taste is moderately bitter and roasted, with some sweetness. Finish is average.

NZJoe (159) - NEW ZEALAND - MAR 18, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 18, 2019 500ml bottle. Pours like Coke. Thin off-white head. Grainy, metallic aroma. Taste is metallic, raisiny, herbal. Full bodied. Slight sweetness. Not bad, not great.

Skinnyviking (10848) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - MAR 17, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 17, 2019 Sampled at DØE København. High creamy lasting light brown head. Very dark brown body. Sweet but not too sweet roasted malt caramel with prunes, plums and raisin prunes aroma and flavor with a fair amount of hops bitterness, low carbonation and a long sweet finish.
