UPDATED: JAN 28, 2023 (Tap at TCBW 2022, Saturday) (6:4-:7-:3:13=3.3-) Dark, fairly flat (what head there is is dark). Peanut (roasted) more than peanut butter, in both aroma and taste. This has the feel of a Baltic porter more than a stout. Slightly dry finish, with some coffee roast. Covers the alcohol quite well, especially when one considers that it's not overly sweet. Unusually, Phil probably didn't have this (no notes).

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2022 A 330ml gold waxed bottle, 6th Anniversary, 2020 vintage, with a best before date of 4th December 2023. Poured into what I guess is a water glass (being all that I could find at the hotel late at night). Black in colour with a very thin tanned head that dissipated fairly quickly while leaving some sparse lacing. Aromas of peanut, peanut butter, chocolate, light roast, bourbon, brown sugar, vanilla. Tastes roasty, chocolate, moderate sweetness, caramel, dark fruit, prunes, plum, brown sugar, bourbon, peanut. Creamy, full bodied with soft carbonation. Overall, definitely a sipper with interesting aroma and flavours. Peanut notes were quite pronounced, but I would have preferred if it was more peanut butter instead, as per the name.

T: really full malty base, chocolate sauce, coffee, dark fruits, woody touch, toffee, dark chocolate, vinous touch, bit vanilla, light oily mouthfeel, nutty, nice balanced bitterness, low if any carbonation, very tasty for the style, fully enjoyed.

UPDATED: NOV 9, 2021 Gold Waxed Bottle, Edition from 2020.

sam_uk93 (191) - West Sussex, ENGLAND - JUL 4, 2021
UPDATED: JUL 4, 2021 Pours a thick motor oil black with a small dark brown head.. Aroma is heavy on the peanut, some of the bourbon coming through, brown sugar. Taste is lots of peanut up front, a gathering sweetness into the middle where the bourbon really comes through, some dark chocolate, roasty coffee into the finish as it gains in bitterness towards the finish, which lingers with a long bitter sweetness with the bourbon staying throughout. Some nice slight boozy warmth. Lovely thick full bodied, medium to low carbonation. Absolutely wonderful!
