UPDATED: AUG 23, 2019 (22/08/2019) Pint on tap at BD Riley's Irish Pub, Austin, Texas. Clear golden with a thin white head. Aroma of lemon, banana, cloves, grass. Taste of cloves, banana, lemon, spices, grass. Floral back end with a lingering clove presence which is pleasant and not overpowering. Light bodied. I was surprised by how much I liked it! UPDATED: APR 23, 2019 Enjoyed this Hefeweizen! Draft at local gastropub. Nice white head, German wheat smell, light wheat malt, banana cloviness evident. When ISO that German Wheat in the middle of Texas, this is pretty tasty! oobawa (3107) - Tennessee, USA - MAR 16, 2019
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2019 Exactly what you want in a hefeweizen: light but with enough body to carry the front of honey, banana, and clove through to the finish, underlined by bread-and-lemon yeastiness and a grassy/floral bitterness carrying into the fade. Gorgeous hazed gold pour with a massive white cap and endless lacing. Bright and bubbly and crisp; i.e. a delightful pint. Sets the standard for what an American hefeweizen can be. lavaaaron (1254) - - DEC 12, 2018
UPDATED: DEC 12, 2018 Can pour. Cloudy dark straw color. Banana pudding aroma with notes of yeast. Flavors are banana and vanilla forward followed by hints of clove, pepper and wheat. Can shared at Lucky Bamboo share. Pours a clearish gold with a full 2 fingers of foam that dissipate. Banana and clove forward aromas with some light lemon. Clean and smooth on the palate. Body is a bit thin compared to the German classics, but the flavors are there. Lingering clove and faint floral, banana and light grassy hops on the finish.
