UPDATED: MAY 6, 2023 as Ganter Weizen Hefedunkel steht dunkelbraun mit ordentlicher, feinporiger Schaumkrone im Glas. Es riecht malzig, bananig. Der Antrunk schmeckt spritzig malzig. Im Mittelteil kommt neben Weizenmalz auch Banane und ein Hauch Nelke hinzu. Der Abgang ist mild und hefig. Ein gut trinkbares Weizen. 7 Kronkorken

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2023 On tap at Ganter Brauereiausschank Freiburg. Murky brown coloured, medium sized off-white head, pleasant wheaty nose. Sweet malty, wheaty, light yeasty and fruity with touch of caramel and spices. Discreet banana also.

UPDATED: DEC 11, 2022 Das Ganter Weizen Hefedunkel war im Juni Bierabo 2022 von Kalea.Trüb braun im Glasm mit üppiger, beiger, feinporiger und standfester Krone erfüllt das Bier alle optischen Erwartungen an ein dunkles Weizen. Der Geruch ist sehr hefebetont mit nicht ganz stimmigen Röstaromen im Hintergrund. Beim Antrunk immer noch dominate Here aber leicht süß, was die Hefe etwas entschärft. Die Säure ist auch deutlich da, wird aber auch von der Süße abgemildert. Beim Abgang kommt dann noch ein wenig Kaffee hinzu - die Hefe ist aber immer noch führend - leider. Für mich eher ein schwaches, dunkles Hefeweizen.

UPDATED: JAN 31, 2022 Malz und süßes Gebäck (würziger Lebkuchen und Spekulatius sind da auch dabei). Ein Hauch von Kräuterlikör. Wohlschmeckend und klar einen Schritt neben den ausgetretenen (und gelegentlich auch langweiligen) Pfaden eines dunklen Weizen. Das überzeugt - wenn auch nicht an 365 Tagen im Jahr. Ein besonderes Bier für eine besondere Zeit bzw. Gelegenheit / Stimmung. Etwas mehr Substanz und das wäre vermutlich das ideale Weihnachtsbier.

UPDATED: OCT 19, 2019 I have picked up this bottle, at one Getränkmarkt, at Kirchzarten. Drinking it and judging it, two days ago, at our rented flat, at Kirchzarten. I don't know what it was happening with this bottle but it was simply undrinkable, too carbonated, giving simply a bad taste. At the nose, it was interesting with the traditional ingredients but after it was another story. The body has a beautiful brown and troubled body, yeasty, too carbonated, I will try this beer again, during a next trip.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2019 Légèrement ambrée, bonne mousse. Nez fruité malté typique sur l'ananas et malté pain. Gout malté, pain, un peu toasté avec un coté fruité jaune et paille. Corps un peu leger. Fin sur le coté malté fruité. Pas trop mal

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2019 Bottle. Pours copper brown with big, stable off-white head. Clear aroma of malt, banana and yeast, with hints of caramel. Sweetish flavour of caramel malt and banana, with estery notes, sourish, grainy touches and bitter notes of hops. Estery and malty aftertaste with bitter touches. Decent for the style and enjoyable as such.

UPDATED: FEB 10, 2019 Fläschle (Dank am See!): Hazy, deep amber coloured, firm and stable medium-sized off-white head, moderate sweet-sourish aroma of dark malt and wheat, some yeast and chofolate chips underneath; light to moderate sweetish-sourish flavour, covering a delicate bitterness; relatively light bodied, but quite soft; returning chocolatey traces in the shorter sourish-sweetish finish.
