COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Pilser" realizzata con Sam Calagione del birrificio Dogfish Head (USA). Pils, Carapils, Simcoe, Warior, Saaz <nt>

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2021 This was a gift and I had never heard of it, so my expectations were moderate. After serving it I was blown right away by the aroma. It somehow manages to be a very hoppy beer while also retaining a pilsener-quality. It is not particularly sweet or malty, but enough to balance the hops beautifully. Overall I was extremely impressed. I am giving it a great review because it's unclear to me how you could make a beer in this style any better than this.

Gangstergafje (2768) - Rotterdam, NETHERLANDS - MAY 22, 2021
UPDATED: MAY 22, 2021 22-05-2021; bottle; at home (bought at Saveur Bière, as part of their April 2021 discovery box). The looks of the beer are nice. It is a fine looking golden yellow beer, crystal clear and with a nice slight haziness,. On top of the beer a very nice layer of frothy white foam is formed. Foam retention is average and a nice thick drape is left on the beer. Looking good. The aroma of the beer is very nice. It is very aromatic, and completely different from what I expected. The malts give some nice aromas of biscuit and some grain. Not too strong. Hops are very prominent in this beer. They give loads of tropical fruits. There is lemon zest, grapefruit zest and juice and a touch of orange. There are nice notes of passionfruit and some nice mango too, together with some warming pine aromas, like walking trough a Italian pine forest in the summer. Lovely. The label saus Imperial Pilsener, but it almost feels like a APA or IPA. Lovely beer. The taste of the beer is also very pleasant. It is loaded with sweet malt aromas and also some sweet fruity notes. The hops give a nice bitterness, but also some nice fruity sours. The result is a beer that is in quite good balance, very nice! The palate of the beer also is very nice. Medium body, extremely smooth and nice medium-light carbonation, enhancing the smoothness of the beer. The finish is filled with these nice hops, filled with tropical fruits. Also some nice touches of the malts. All in all, it really is a very lovely beer. Good work.
