thegreenrooster	3.1 von Trapp Schwarz Pour is a black with a large mocha tan head. Aroma is an ok roasted malt and bitter bakers chocolate. Flavor is a decent roasted malt and hop combo. thegreenrooster	3.8 von Trapp / Troegs Stowe Style Dunkelweizen Pour is a dark brown with a bone white head. Aroma is a super amount of banana and clove. Flavor is banana and clove with a not off putting sweetness. Just the right amount of sweetness if you will. Finish is even a little bitter. Excellent example of the style. Saturday, April 6, 2024

thegreenrooster	3.2 von Trapp Vienna Pour is a hazy copper with a large white head. Aroma is a nice baked bread and honey malt. Flavor is a little light. Some caramel sweetness with a bitterness left on the tongue. Still a decent attempt but the aroma was far better than the flavor. Saturday, April 6, 2024

jwil	3 von Trapp Vienna Quite a fluffy head. Light amber coloration. Smell of straw and bread. Medium body, crisp. Moderate carbonation. Low bitterness and not super sweet. The hops mute the malts. Sweet smoked maple house, banana and caramel aromas. Thin to medium bodied with clove, maple and nutmeg front to back. Lasting bananas flambe and earthy clove finish. Sunday, March 31, 2024

LinusStick	2.9 von Trapp Vienna First beer from them. Aroma was classic lager with a hint of rotten eggs. Pour was a clear dark gold with a two finger off white head. Taste was a classic Vienna. NikkTwist	3.5 von Trapp Dunkel Lager Draft at The Dandelion. Slightly hazy dark copper pour with slim ivory foam. Crisp medium toffee caramel malts. Faintly fudgy. Darkish but juicy. Some bright mandarin notes. Hints of molasses and brown sugar cola. Semi-glossy bread crusts. Doesn't feel properly German but still a delicious Dunkel. Tuesday, March 5, 2024

Bright, herbal hops with freshly baked bread. Clean, good, crisp lager yeast on the finish. Bit of rustic mineral, hay, cracker, biscuit, etc...A bit more aromatic than usual for Von Trapp. Soft, malty, dry, with herbal hop character and moderate bitterness. Clean. The texture, while malty, is just a bit flat and slightly mushy, for lack of a better term. The carbonation is super loose and seemingly quite forced. Clean as all hell, but just a little bit too polished and produced. Maybe high filtration is knocking out the texture and aromatics? Tuesday, February 6, 2024

MacNJ	3.2 von Trapp Schwarz Poured from a can into a tulip pint glass. Thick, two finger head and black pour. The head had a bouquet of roasted malts/coffee. Clean, crisp mountain water; light and refreshing for a dark beer. Attractive soapy webbing in the glass. Has a bite that is somewhat like one from a Pilsner, but the roasted flavor is prevalent. Metalchopz	3.7 von Trapp Maple Rauch Enjoyed April 25th, 2023 at the brewery. Clean, ambler colour with golden highlights, and off-white, frothy-creamy head leaving creamy lacing. Fruity malt nose with light smokiness. Smoky taste with the light maple sweetness, balanced by the herbal-hop notes. The mouthfeel has a nice dry touch in the end. Quite a nicely blended, dryer Rauchbier, with that tad maple. Thursday, December 21, 2023
Metalchopz	3.7 von Trapp Schwarz Enlyed April 25th, 2023 at the brewery. Clean copper-brown colour with golden highlights, a nice creamy light beige head and full creamy lacing. Smooth, burnt barley aromas with an oat softness. Roasted malt base with a nice herbal, hop finish. The mouthfeel is lightly dry in the finish. An easy-drinking Schwarzbier that is nicely balanced. Clean, golden colour with a lively carbonation, a nice white frothy head that stays the whole time, and lots of lacing. Beautiful, fresh herbal nose over straw, spicy malts. The spiciness continues in the taste, lingering with the blended sweetness of the malts. The grassy hops comes out in the dry finish. A very nice, balanced, spicier Pilsner that goes down very, very well. Thursday, December 21, 2023

nearbeer	3.4 von Trapp Helles 6 pack of cans, bb 02/06/24. Clear golden pour with an inch of spongy foam. Aroma has lemon grass and crackers with a touch of honey. Tastes of honey, sourish grass, and biscuit. Light-medium bodied with a medium-plus fizz. Delicate balance required for the style starts too sweet but almost hangs on to the slight dose of bittering hops to remain fairly drinkable. Sunday, November 5, 2023

Biscuit and caramel are present, as is a floral bitterness on the back end, but it fails to make much of an impression beyond that. Wouldn’t turn down a pint, but I wouldn’t seek it out.
