KevinReddirt	3.8 Ommegang / New Belgium Belgian Essence I located this 12 oz bottle at Freeman’s in OKC a couple of weeks ago, did not recognize that it was a tripel at the time. Fortunate acquisition, tripels are one of my three favorite styles. Ready to receive the pour is my substantial New Belgium globe glass, oh, the irony. I see a cloudy amber-gold liquid with a nicely representative head of extremely fine, very white bubbles. I find the nose to be attractive. Yellow fruit, citrus and yeast. But I bought this brew for the drink and now I do that. Peaches, a fair amount of floral, malt, yeast again, straw and some hops influence. An easy beer to drink. bigcat03	3.3 Ommegang Frozen World Can poured into an IPA glass. Champagne gold with a bubbly white head and lots of visible carbonation. Aroma is citrus, floral, dank, grapes, wood. Ratman197	3.7 Ommegang / Liefmans Dream Patch Pounder can poured a clear dark pink with a small lasting pink head. Aromas of bread, cherry, raspberry and light blueberry. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry tart finish. Flavors of bread, raspberry, cherry and a hint of blueberry with a crisp dry tart lingering berry finish. Friday, April 5, 2024
Ron	3.4 Ommegang Manhattan Shine JB brought a bottle to Disc Golf share. Poured a red color with a whiteish head. Aromas of black cherry and bourbon. Tastes of black cherry mostly, some orange, and spice and vanilla. The ABV stands out. Wednesday, April 3, 2024

Dorwart	4.1 Ommegang Game of Thrones Royal Reserve - Hand of the Queen I could have sworn a rated this one a couple of years ago. Had this sitting in my basement aging as a backup. Oh well, better late then never. Thin head of dense light brown bubbles. Caramel, decaying leaves, roasted grains, sweet malts and some strong tea. Color is a hazy caramel. Lively in the mouth for a 2+ year old brew. More caramel, toasted malts, dry grains, toffee, more tea and earthy flavors. Moderate alcohol presence and warming. Medium bodied. Lots of flavor and more reminiscent of an English barleywine. A bit dry and more bitterness than a sweet bomb. A very good brew and one that has aged very well. Saturday, March 30, 2024

jb	3.7 Ommegang Manhattan Shine Wow, had not realized this was 12.0% till this moment. Serious respect given. This is quite fruity, full of cherry. Not super spicy, not boozy or warming really. Big, lingering, pasty, lightweight white head. Sharp, cider-ish, fruity nose, peppery & chalky yeast. Gently floral flavor, with juicy green grape & moderate to strong bittergreen hops. theisti	3.8 Ommegang / New Belgium Belgian Essence 12 oz bottle generously given to me by csbosox. The pour is a slightly hazed orange golden with some light splotchy lace. The aroma is herbal Belgian yeast, nice floral, leather and yeast - a bright and inviting nose. The taste is straw, grass then moves into the floral and Brett yeast character. Aromas of bread, yeast, flowers , metal and spice. Tastes of sweet bread, yeast, a hint of pepper , mineral and a spice I can’t pinpoint. Smooth mouthfeel, spritzy carbonation light-medium body, cloying sweetness with a spicy finish. I don’t think it’s too bad but the spiciness is killing me. Just not my style! Ok lol! Flavors of chocolate and peanut butter are there, but this lacks body and substance. Not sure why Ommegang is making a beer like this when their pedigree is so much more. Disappointing. There are flowery notes with Belgian funk and a bit of spice. It has light grainy sweetness with some flowery elements and a bit of spice. There are Belgian funk elmeents with some hay and barnyard notes. It has a medium body with smooth alcohol warming and a dry finish. Overall, it's a quite easy drinking beer with nice crisp flavors. Full-bodied and a bit syrupy, though it's likely mellowed over time. Long finish that still had some boozy astringency to it.
