Three classic Trappists, a monster sour from California and a slew of high gravity stouts populate this week’s list of performers. It should be noted that 9 out of the 10 highest rated beers this week are all within the top 100 active beers on the site, with only Chimay Blue falling outside of this range (a very respectable 168th ranking).
Debuting at the top this week is an 11% ABV barely wine from Nøgne Ø brewed with smoked malt and rye, a 12% imperial stout collaboration between De Molen and Struise, and a 7% coffee stout from Spring House in Pennsylvania. Other notables include a wine-barrel aged version of Podge Belgian Imperial Stout and a 5.6% Oud Bruin from De Molen fermented in Bordeaux and whisky barrels.
