Goose Island Bourbon County Stout - Vanilla Rye Barrel 4.0
Very good, vanilla balances out the bourbon again. A little better than teh coffee version and a little less good than the cherry, but all things are pretty good here. Vanilla only lightly evident. Bitter finish, some dark chocolate and coffee. Served in a custom-made plastic Goose Island shot glass. Full disclosure - I was bribed with t-shirts and free glassware last night though none of it affected my ratings...

Samuel Adams Breakaway Blonde Ale 3.4

Pours clear jonquil with a good ivory head. Aroma brings malty, resiny hop and subtle bready tones. Flavor yields fresh malt, resiny hops, subtle citrus and biscuit notes. Texture furnishes nice body, peppy fizz, and a grassy hint on the back end. Breakaway from megabrews and embrace craft beer.

Robinsons Trooper Fear of the Dark 3.6
Robinsons Family Brewery Stockport, Greater Manchester
Meget mørk rødbrun med rimelig holdbart lysbrunt skum. Mørk malt og lakrids i duften. Mundfornemmelsen er blød og smagen har tydelig engelsk lakrids med let bitterhed og en lang, let bitter eftersmag

Langton North Star 3.5
Langton Brewery Thorpe Langton, Leicestershire
Cask at the Real Ale Classroom, Leicester city centre. Golden brown, clear with a decent-sized slightly loose beige head. Malty aroma, a little metallic, touch of ash, some cherry notes in the background. Gorgeous taste, sweetness to the fore with some intense bitterness in the second half of the sip. A little weak in the body, little carbonation. But this is a well done beer. Every time I take a sip I discover something new.

Clausthaler Dry Hopped IPA 1.3
Binding-Brauerei (Radeberger Group) Frankfurt am Main, Hesse
I always say, with an ear worm singing in my brain: I won't get fooled again. But it seems periodically, I happen to pick up one of these stupid non alky brews when putting together a sixer of of unrated singles. Doesn't really piss me off and I'd rather do an IPA for a tick, but this one is bot IPA and non alky, blah. At least a regular IPA will have some mind fuzzing alky content for the brutal beer tasting experience. This one smells a little veggie, tastes quite veggie and needs more carbonation. Not really diffing this at all. In the middle it has some tartness appearing but its no consolation. Finishes like an IPA flavored vegan seltzer water. Well, at least I got a tick if not a buzz. There, you have it.
