I ONLY drink a GOOD bitter IPA and this one is THE BEST I have ever had...and I have had many!!! If it is on the menu...It is in my glass...SUPER BEER!!! It has every quality a FANTASTIC IPA should have and more! I am very picky about my IPA’s (I have even been know to refuse to drink a glass of beer and have a regular ice tea over a crappy one) and this one is NUMBER ONE in all categories! liquidhedonism (289) - Beaverton, Oregon, USA - JAN 5, 2015
22 oz bottle. Aroma: malty and piney, with hints of caramel, barnyard, and resin. Taste/Palate: starts sweet and crisp, and finishes creamy with a long bitterness. beersak (91) - akron, USA - AUG 31, 2013
Awesome citrus hop aroma. Very distinctive taste of certain hops. Very good. Pine and citrus flavors.

A really well balanced IPA from one of the better central Oregon breweries. Not overly hoppy but enough to keep it very much in the IPA family.

Apocalypse IPA isn’t just for the end of the world. Which is a good thing since this beer emits a smell of cherries, hops, and tropical fruits that is to die for! Its light golden color comes with a dash of a reddish tint and is topped with just the tiniest bit of foam.
It starts with a short, bubbly attack up front but that fades almost immediately into a subtle, easy to drink beer. The malts and hops working in perfect harmony. It’s no wonder that this is 10 Barrel’s flagship beer.
The cherries and fruit come out the somewhat in the beer but even their tastes are rather subtle and just there to help take out the hop-sting. Nothing is overpowering, nothing overwhelms your taste buds. It all just works in this awesome symphony of flavor.
The bottle says that Apocalypse has 70 IBU but it’s so smooth, and goes down so easy, that it was hard to believe there were any hops in this beer. Even the aftertaste of this beer was pleasant. There was no alcohol burn (it’s only 6.5%), there was no hoppy bitterness, only a sweet, semi-fruity flavor.
However, towards the bottom of the glass, the hop-sting begins to show itself. The vast majority of the beer is really easy to drink and has very little bitterness...but those 70 IBU did show up at the end. Not that it took anything away from the beer in my mind.

Had the nitro version and it was super! Very well balanced and extremely drinkable. Plenty of malt to stand up to the fresh hops. The nitro enhanced the body. Hope I get to try it again. secretmartian (2) - Tigard, Oregon, USA - FEB 19, 2010 does not count
A fantastic session IPA. Unlike other IPAs that have a strong grapefruit flavor, 10 Barrel instead went with a very pleasant pine aroma and taste. Full-bodied, but scary easy to drink. Make sure you have a ride home. ricco (6) - British Columbia, CANADA - SEP 14, 2012 does not count
This is an excellent IPA. I had little or no expectations when I opened this beer. It was an after thought as I grab a few beer before I crossed the border.
Boy, was I surprised. What a great IPA. Not too grapefruity, lovely aroma and a super smooth taste. A REALLY nice beer. You will enjoy this IPA. aleichter (31) - - APR 3, 2014
Light orange hazy appearance. Very good hoppy flavor with a crisp hop finish. Drinkable but with great flavor TheFriedCritic (2) - Alabama, USA - DEC 28, 2014 does not count
This beer smells really, really good when you crack open a bottle. On top of that, it’s a quick, easy drink that goes down remarkably smooth. It has light, citrus-y tinges which help make it an enjoyable drink to savor. The only knock against it, I’d say, is that it’s always a bit hard to finish; as in, once it settles at the bottom, the remainder is a bit sharp. Overall, though, it’s a really fantastic drink, something I’d easily recommend. Here’s hoping the Anheuser-Busch buyout doesn’t affect the quality of the brew!
