Two bottles sent from a friend in Oregon. Given the shelf life, I didnít expect these to be the best samples of what Shawn Kelso can do now that heís at 10 Barrel. But still, having known him way back in high school, he always finds a way to get his signature hop face-slap into all of his IPAs. Pours cloudy orange, almost looks like an orange-amber hefeweizen, until the aroma reaches out and grabs your nostrils. Soapy white head. Simcoe aroma, pine tree, cantaloupe melon, mango, papaya, pineapple juice. Definitely hoppy and long-standing bitter. If I close my eyes, itís somewhat similar to Hopsickle. Would love to had tried this fresh on tap instead of the last two bottles on the shelf in a store in Oregon. Still, it has Shawnís signature all over it.
Bomber pours a cloudy orange with a one finger yellow-eggshell head and light lacing. Aroma is primarily citrus with wood and malt. Taste is very hop heavy, bitterness is high, flavor is citrus dominant, alcohol taste is abundant, aftertaste is just OK and is long lasting. Overall itís mediocre, and I definitely prefer either their regular IPA or "Joe" to this one. luttonm (6158) - Seattle, Washington, USA - DEC 5, 2016
Chuckís CD, Seattle. Deeper orange-gold, touch of haze, small hop. Resiny citrus, pineapple, pine sap. Definite thick pineapple. Fairly sweet, full clean balanced juice and bitter. Clean and very tasty. I dig it. robertjm (892) - Albany, California, USA - OCT 22, 2016
(22oz. bottle) - Pours a huge white foam. Cloudy orange body. Big aroma of citrus and pine resin. Flavors of apricot with a tad bit of light caramel and orange. Bitterness lingers on the palate for a while. Thick mouth feel. Enjoyed it. But, probably wonít be on my radar to go out of my way to buy it (It was 50% off at Safeway!!) slowrunner77 (11912) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JUL 22, 2016

Bottle from Safeway in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is mango initially, tropical fruits. Gets more herbal as it warms. Taste is tropical marmalade, herbal and sweet. Kinda dank and wet. Not bad. Ratman197 (14668) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - MAY 28, 2016

4ís across the board! This one is fruity & bitter and lip smacking good. Although ABV is over 9, the alcohol is offset by the smooth malt and enormous amount of hops that itís barely noticeable. Enjoy!
