Deep, caramel color. Tastes like a scotch ale. Carmely Thin white head. Good white lace. Cool. Refreshing. Strong. Carmely. IndianaRed (4774) - Boise, Idaho, USA - NOV 19, 2013
On tap at the Boise BP in a big snifter A clear redish amber, with a small modest light tan head. Persistent sticky lacing. Soft sweet aroms of sweet carmel malts and a little cinnamon, More sweet candi flavor, light toasted malts, barely, and almost syrupy christmas cookie flavor. Would never have guessed the 80 IBUs or the 9.6 ABV. A lovely sipper. Frahmo (316) - Idaho, USA - NOV 16, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2014 On Tap at the Brewery in Boise ID. Pours a reddish mahogany with a finger of light brown head that persisted for the entire glass. Citrus hop aroma greets the nose on this guy. Roasty malts up front with some serious hop flavor to finish. The blend of malts and hops masks the alcohol content in this one. One of the best big beers I have had this fall season.
Rerated to be more in line with my other ratings.
